What are your favorite things to try no matter where you go?

I think I can speak for us all when I say that food is one of the BEST parts of traveling. But, I also like to try the same things in many different places to see how they compare.

For example, if there is Acai I am trying it. Anyone else?

The last one I tried was at a resort in the Keys called Playa Largo, and it was amazing!

I think it is the perfect lunch so you don't get too bogged down and can still go on adventures the rest of the day.

Okay I also try ACAI everywhere and I would consider myself the world expert :p:p:p

Other things I must try:
- The chip flavours in said country
- Local pastries
- and when going into a restaurant with national food, asking them "What do people love the most here" or "What dish do you wish more foreigners would try"

Omg, that'll be three of us acai enthusiasts! I'm an Acai connoisseur myself, and wherever I travel, I always end up seeking out a place that serves my favorite dish in the world. The last one I tried was in Brazil, and I dare to say I'd give it an 8/10, even though we were in Rio de Janeiro, the birthplace of Acai. But I wasn't blown away. I don't know if it's because I'm used to the typical Mexican Acai, which they probably make way differently and add more sugar.

I think another thing I'm a connoisseur of and always seek out is the local beer or beverage.

I like to try regional dishes & drinks. In Barbados, we ordered rum punch at every restaurant, because each place has their own recipe. I found my two favorites for rum punch: The Green Monkey at the Harrison Caves, and The Tipsy Monkey in Holetown. Yes, they have many green monkeys (really, slightly olive-colored), and many venues are named after monkeys.

Aruba is a foodie paradise. The population is very diverse, and so are the food offerings. On Aruba, you will find Mexican, Italian, several different South American, Dutch, French, Spanish & Asian delights, as well as traditional Aruban dishes & food from other Caribbean islands. Of course, fresh seafood is found on nearly every menu.
I know that Aruba isn’t a hidden gem, but it’s safe to explore everywhere on the island, and the variety & quality of food is to die for…unfortunately so are the prices if you don’t look for daily specials.

Craft or locally brewed beer! I used to work for a craft beer magazine so was lucky enough to go on many beer tours around different places. Some of the best beer cities I've visited globally are: Wellington (New Zealand), Chicago, London, and Copenhagen.
Ah this is a great one! Yea I usually will ask what the local beer is and try that out too. In fact, I was just in St. Lucia and had a really cool moment.

I was on a boat near the pitons and they asked if we wanted a drink, I asked for the local beer and it is actually called Piton haha.

Great photo op!

Yes to trying local beers!!

I'm open to trying anything except worms. Tried coffee chicken for the first time, can't really taste the coffee but the aroma was definitely inviting.

I second the local beer. I’m a home brewer and Im always interested in what others make and looking for my next inspiration.
Awesome! I tried home brewing with a friend once, and we made a mango habanero porter blend. It was good, but I have had liquor that didn't burn as much :ROFLMAO:.

What is your go-to to make at home?
