Problem: Groundforce ground-handling staff at Barcelona-El Prat Airport have been on an indefinite strike since August 4 over working conditions, causing widespread delayed and stranded luggage.
Why it matters: Combined with regional Spanish air traffic control constraints, the bottleneck is heavily disrupting flights for major European airlines.
Advice: Travel with a carry-on if possible, allow extra time, and track checked bags closely.
