Why This Level

Exercise increased caution due to unrest, crime, terrorism, and kidnapping. Protests can occur and turn violent without notice. Common crimes in major cities include muggings, burglaries, and assaults. Terrorist violence remains a risk. Kidnapping risk exists in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, areas near the Burma border, and refugee camps near Cox's Bazar. Note: Chittagong Hill Tracts is Level 4 — Do Not Travel.
