Hello Kindred Spirits! Nice to meet you! I live in a sweet little town an hour north of Philadelphia. I love traveling every month AND coming home! I lived in France for 14 years (Brittany, Normandy, Grenoble + Paris) and I return often to visit my daughter + grandchildren who live near Paris, but were formerly in Bordeaux. Plus, I take groups on trips all over the world....so I can't imagine ever retiring! I love it, but sometimes I treat myself to trips when I don't have to take care of people!!
 
Welcome @SusanDuvalSeminars !! Sounds like you have had some incredible journeys and look forward to hearing more about them soon. One of our writers @Vinicius Costa is living in Paris right now :). How are you finding being back in the U.S. after living in France for many years?
 
Hi Trevor! I saw that Vinicius is in Paris! I might have to look him up next time I go. I miss France and being in Europe, but it helps to go over so often. And I adore my town + friends here...in fact, my besties are a couple who are both pilots with United Airlines. They gifted me with a buddy pass for several years, which is an amazing gift...traveling stand-by to just about anywhere in the world!! I don't have it for this year but am keeping my fingers crossed for next year :))

Hi Susan,
Flashpacker is a budget traveler that has a little more budget than a backpacker but these days flashpackers call themselves backpackers. E.g. flashpacker don't hitch a ride to get around.

It's interesting I haven't heard that term very often but literally there are millions of backpackers out there that enjoy the lifestyle but could travel differently if they wanted. It does get lonely though and backpacking is definitely a stronger community.
