The Mediterranean is the go-destination for Americans crossing the pond this summer, not only due to the balmy temperatures and the turquoise seas, but also the cultural wealth it boasts. It is home to some of the world's most historically-charged nations, from Spain to France to Italy to Greece.
A little-known fact among some U.S. travelers, however, is that the Med is not exclusively European: the sea borders two other continents, namely Africa and Asia, and away from European shores, there is an equally trendy sunny spot gaining traction as of late.
