Traveler Safety Index: The World's First Real-Time Safety Ratings
No Politics. Just Traveler Safety.
Go beyond government advisories. We believe safety isn't about politics—it's about what travelers are experiencing right now. This tool analyzes live signals from real people to give you the honest truth about the world's most popular destinations.
How The Index Works
How is the Safety Score calculated?+
The Travel Safety Index uses a Hybrid Verification Model. While our proprietary algorithm calculates real-time sentiment based on recency, every single data trend is subject to a Mandatory 24-Hour Editorial Audit.
This means real humans (our editorial team) review the data spikes every single day to ensure anomalies—like bot attacks or viral misinformation—are filtered out before they impact the final safety grade.
Is this score generated by AI?+
No. AI cannot visit a city, walk the streets, or feel the atmosphere—people can. This index is built on Human Intelligence crowdsourced from verified travelers on the ground.
While we use technology to aggregate the votes, the final publication of data is Curated Daily by our Editor-in-Chief and security analysts. We do not publish "black box" AI scores; we publish verified human sentiment that is manually approved for accuracy.
How do you prevent spam or fake votes?+
We utilize browser fingerprinting and IP limiting to prevent mass-voting or "review bombing." Each user is limited to one vote per destination per timeframe. While no crowd-sourced tool is immune to all manipulation, our Signal Confidence meter (the bars at the top of the tool) indicates how much data backs up the score. Low data = Lower confidence.
Why does this differ from government advisories?+
Government advisories are diplomatic tools that assess broad, long-term risks (like terrorism or kidnapping). They rarely capture the day-to-day reality of tourism zones. A city might be "Level 4: Do Not Travel" due to events in a remote province, while the tourist center is perfectly calm. Our tool captures the Tourist Experience, not the geopolitical one. We recommend checking both our tool and official advisories (linked in the tool) for a complete picture.
What do the "Signal Confidence" bars mean?+
1 Bar: Low Data. The score is likely using the Government Baseline or older data. 3 Bars: Moderate Data. A steady stream of travelers are reporting. 5 Bars: High Confidence. The score is statistically significant based on a high volume of live reports.
