Could this mountainous Island be the Caribbean's best-kept secret?

So you’re on the lookout for a new destination to explore? Palm trees, a tropical climate, the warm Caribbean sea, beautiful landscapes…No, it’s not the Dominican Republic, Bahamas, or Turks and Caicos…

Out to sea between Guadeloupe and Martinique, this breathtaking island isn’t one to miss. Its lush scenery, wildlife species, and incredible mountains are almost begging to be explored.

An almost untouched paradise, Dominica is as authentic as they come.

With a strong belief in preserving the natural beauty of the island, you won’t find any large cruise ships or an abundance of hotel chains here.

So, if you’re an adventurer looking to indulge in an off-the-beaten-path Caribbean spot, then Dominica is just right for you!

Distinct Guest Experiences

Sure, Dominica has beautiful beaches like its neighboring islands, but it also offers an array of activities specific to the region that travelers can enjoy on their trip.

If you’re in the mood for a rugged underwater adventure, then why not hop in the ocean with a few Sperm Whales? Probably one of the best places to swim with the largest toothed whales on the planet, it’s an opportunity you can’t miss!

In exclusive news, Dominica is actually in the process of working with National Geographic to create a marine sanctuary to protect and preserve these amazing creatures while allowing some guests to observe the whales closely (the opening date is not yet known).

Does the idea of kayaking around an island sound appealing to you? 2024 marks the 2nd anniversary of Waitukubuli Sea Trail, which is the only sea-kayaking trail in the Caribbean! The 37-mile adventure takes kayakers along rugged shorelines, where they’ll have the chance to witness unspoiled ecology and lush forestry.

Wildlife spotting, hiking, deep-sea diving, and National Parks, Dominica is nature’s playground waiting to be explored by all! (More activities here).

Freedom To Roam

As a relatively unexplored island and an off-the-beaten-path destination, Dominica truly allows its visitors the freedom to roam without the hassle of crowds. (Added bonus: it’s also affordable and close to most cities in the U.S.- AKA, short flight times!)

Not overly developed, touristy, or crowded with resorts and high-rises, the island is working to become the first climate-resilient nation. Of course, booking activities to support local businesses is always suggested, BUT, if you have a few extra days to explore.. THEN ROAM.

At every corner, you’re sure to find another representation of Mother Nature’s work at its finest.

Hotel News

While the island does its part in keeping its local charm, Dominica will welcome its second U.S.-based hotel brand. Hopping into the mix (with a targeted opening date for sometime in 2024) is the Tranquility Beach Resort, a Hilton Curio Collection property.

The famed Fort Young Hotel and Dive Resort will complete a 15 million-dollar renovation by November of this year. So, if you’re on the hunt for an all-inclusive waterfront property with a rum and wine cellar, then here it is! (Did we mention they also have a slew of adventure activities guests can book and take part in!?)

Keep an eye out on these two 👀
