Brits and Spain go together like peanut butter and jelly. It’s our go-to vacation destination and more than 15 million of us head to Spain every year.  As a proud Brit I've been visiting Spain for decades but by far my favorite Spanish destination is the Canary Islands. For solo trips, girls trips, or adventures in the sunshine with my kids there are few better places to be.

The Canary Islands are technically closer to Africa than to mainland Spain which explains their desert landscape and year-round sunshine but they have a distinctive laidback Spanish attitude that I just can’t get enough of.
