After being closed for international tourism for months, Curaçao is happy to announce they have now reopened and are accepting tourists from all countries.
Curaçao lifted entry bans and started welcoming tourists on June 12, 2020, adding more countries to the list July 1 and finally opening to all countries on January 1st, 2021.
Below we have TWO lists of countries that can visit Curaçao, one with a test, and one without a test.
Countries that can travel to Curaçao
LOW RISK:
As of July 16, 2020 passengers traveling from the following countries are welcome to visit Curacao, without bringing a negative PCR test: (accurate as of Jan 1)
Anguilla
Antigua and Barbuda
Aruba
Barbados
Bermuda
Bonaire
BVI's
Cayman Islands
Dominica
Grenada
Guadeloupe
Jamaica
Martinique
Montserrat
St. Eustatius
Saba
Saint Kitts and Nevis
Saint Lucia
Trinidad & Tobago
St. Vincent and Grenadines
Virgin Islands British
All Other Countries Entry Requirements:
1- Digital Immigration Card
Complete the Digital Immigration Card before departure.
2- Passenger Locator Card (PLC)
Fill out the Passenger Locator Card before departure. Both online (and then re-upload the finished copy) plus printed/filled out copy to have on your person for customs upon arrival.
3- Negative PCR Test
All travelers must bring a negative result from a certified COVID-19 PCR-test and carry a printed document of proof with them.
The PCR test needs to be taken at maximum 72 hours prior to departure at an accredited laboratory. You may contact your general practitioner for a referral to the nearest institution. Please upload your test results as soon as you receive this.
It is possible to upload the test result until 1 hour before departure. The PCR test is per person and the test is mandatory for all ages.
Exception:
- Visitors coming in from the ‘low risk' list of countries above are not required to upload a PCR test. They are only required to do the first 2 steps, completing the digital immigration card, and upload the PLC to the online portal.
Other Entry Requirements for Curaçao
Curaçao is asking international tourists to also follow the following rules:
- Before entering Curaçao, you have only been physically located on one of the approved countries for a minimum of 14 days
- All travelers have sufficient insurance coverage for the duration of their stay
- Tourists adhere to basic hygiene standards and physical distancing during their stay
- If social/physical distancing of 2 metres cannot be maintained, tourists will use face masks. Face masks are required at the airport.
- Travelers have both uploaded and printed out versions of all steps above
Are there mandatory testing or quarantines upon arrival in Curaçao?
For all of the above mentioned countries, if they follow all entry requirements and show no symptoms upon arrival, there will be no additional tests or quarantines.
Is entry into Curaçao based on nationality, residency or physical location for the past 14 days?
What Flights Have Resumed to Curaçao?
Many flights have already resumed to Curacao, with more being added by the new international rules for July 1. Here are some flights that are already scheduled from:
Bonaire – Daily on Divi Divi Airlines
Aruba – 4x’s weekly on Divi Divi Airlines and Winair
St. Maarten – 4x’s weekly on Winair
Toronto– 1x’s weekly on Air Canada starting Aug 2
Amsterdam – daily on KLM starting July 5
Can I enter Curaçao by sea?
Currently there is still a cruise ship ban in place.
For private vessels: All embarked ships that want to lay-up, must stay in quarantine for 2 weeks under strict supervision.
Is the USA allowed to travel to Curaçao?
Yes, all travelers from the United States may visit.
Curaçao will continue to monitor the situation and add or remove the countries allowed to visit if needed.
Tourism on the islands is said to be the country’s most important economic pillar, providing around 14% of the GDP and 11% of total employment.
