Disney has already announced enhanced health protocols with more expected before the relaunch.
In light of COVID-19, Disney Cruise Line will be operating at elevated cleaning and sanitation levels.
Procedures currently in place include:
- Training for all of our Crew Members on how best to prevent the spread of illness on board.
- A health screening completed by all Guests and Crew Members to check for illness before they board the ship.
- Extensive cleaning and sanitation of high-traffic areas (e.g., handrails, doorknobs and elevator buttons) and children’s facilities.
- Cleaning of all staterooms twice a day and additional disinfection when necessary.
- Discontinuing self-service at buffet locations.
- Regular communication with Guests and Crew Members regarding how to prevent illness.
- Hand-washing stations and sanitizing wipes conveniently located throughout our ships.
- Medical clinics on our ships staffed with experienced doctors and nurses and stocked with supplies and medications to treat a variety of illnesses.

Will masks be required on board? Will there be character interactions with guests, shows, fireworks, visit to private island?

Everyone will be required to wear masks, all meals will be eaten in the staterooms, and only one deck at a time will be able to leave their staterooms for activities. There will be no excursions and all shows will require 2-3 open chairs between each individual.

I hope your sailing goes as planned.. we're just a few weeks behind you. Realistically tho, we have low hopes of any ships going to sea before a vaccine is in wide use.

Ok. They have been keeping a rolling set of cancelations, generally two months at a time, as they continually evaluate a return to cruising. I do hope that they restart Oct 4th, but as I understand it, DCL has not officially decided to resume cruising then... rather that's just the first cruise date they haven't yet canceled.

Correct, as it stands that is the tentative date right now that is available to book. Fingers crossed.
