Home office blues?

Popular hotel chain, Royalton Luxury Resorts, wants to cure that.

Imagine this – instead of being stuck in your home office, you can swap the view for a luxurious setting in Cancun, Negril, or Punta Cana.

Royalton is offering 2-week “Upgrade Your Office” packages starting at an insane $900 per person, that include everything from food, accommodation, Wi-Fi, business centre access, and even post-work yoga sessions.

Royalton has set up their hotels for working success by opening all-day gourmet coffee bars, quiet areas for videoconferencing, access to printers and portable power banks, modern work stations and fast, reliable internet connectivity.

The enticing promo runs from September 1 to February 10 – perfect timing to escape colder weather and to switch up dreary routines.

But wait- can Americans even go right now?

Yes! While many countries worldwide have banned Americans, the hotels running the workcation promotions are located in countries that are currently allowing American tourists, and other nationalities like Canadians as well.

The hotels are located in:

  • Cancun, Mexico
  • Negril, Jamaica
  • Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Mexico is currently allowing American tourists in with no restrictions, while Jamaica and Dominican Republic are also open for US travelers, but with a negative PCR test.

Daily direct flights are heading to all 3 of these destinations from dozens of cities across the USA.

Everything About Royalton's “Upgrade Your Office” Promotion

Below we are going to go over how to take advantage of a Royalton workcation and all the details you need to know before you go.

What properties are running the workcation promotion?

Royalton has 18 luxury properties throughout the Caribbean, but only 3 of them are participating in this promotion. Thankfully, all 3 are located in countries relatively easy to travel to right now during the pandemic.

  • Royalton Splash Punta Cana (Dominican Republic)
  • Royalton Negril (Jamaica)
  • Royalton Riviera Cancun (Mexico)

The properties are actually super posh, and that is coming directly from a hotel snob like myself.

The Royalton Rivera resort has the highest rating of all three hotels. The base room, also known as the ‘Luxury Junior Suite’ at the Cancun property is pretty impressive at over 500sq ft, plush décor, and even a Jacuzzi soaker tub.

Negril’s rooms start out even larger at just over 600 sq ft with standard ocean views.

The Splash resort in Punta Cana is best for families, as it’s not only the cheapest of the three, but has family suites with separate bedrooms for kids with bunks.

What’s Included in a 2-Week ‘Workcation’?

Royalton has actually included a LOT of perks into the workcation stays, especially considering it’s a full 2-week stay, and it can even be extended to a longer period of time. The stay includes:

  • Luxurious accommodations with modern workstations
  • 24/7 complimentary Diamond Club™ Lounge access
  • Business Centre with complimentary printer access
  • Resort-wide Wi-Fi
  • Quiet locations for video conferencing
  • Portable power banks
  • Complimentary laundry services
  • Daily professional networking happy hour
  • All-inclusive food and beverage
  • Room service
  • Complete gourmet coffee bar
  • Fresh start breakfast bar and daily snacks
  • Daily sunset yoga sessions to decompress
  • Supervised activities and educational experiences for children
  • Safe and quiet learning space for kids and teens studying remotely

Note: The promos do not include airfare.

So basically, it's an all you can eat, all you can work, sort of deal. Really everything in included, right down to laundry, which is actually a really impressive offer.

It seems as though they have really taken the time to understand what a remote worker needs, right down to the portable power packs, smart coffee bars and ‘always on' WiFi.

How Much is a 2-Week ‘Workcation’?

A 2 week stay with all the remote office perks start at $900 per person and are based on double occupancy.

The Splash Punta Cana resort is the cheapest of the three, starting at $900/2-weeks, the Negril resort starts at $1330, and the Cancun property starts at $1440.

How long is the promo on?

The ‘Upgrade Your Office' promo can be booked until October 31, 2020. Travel dates are 2-week (or longer!) periods between September 1, 2020 and February 11, 2021.

What about safety?

We checked out Royalton's new covid-era cleaning and safety standards and they seem to be taking cleanliness and hygiene to a new level for their guests. Between thorough sanitation of all guest touch points, to implementing social distancing measures at the restaurants, gyms and pools, they have implemented many new standard procedures to make for a worry-free workcation.

Hi all. Has anyone been successful in booking this directly on the resort website? Apparently there is a promo code which I cannot get to work. Just curious if anyone had any tips. Thanks!
