In celebration of the 2020 Guiness Book of World Records, Airbnb is offering an exclusive experience that will have your Instagram followers gushing and drooling over.
With only 4 bookings available, a few lucky Airbnb users will be able to try “The LUXE” which is the ‘World's Most Expensive Milkshake', sitting in the same seat that Marilyn Monroe once did at Serendipity 3.
The $100 LUXE Milkshake will have the luxurious blend served in a custom glass adorned with more than 3,000 premium Swarovski® crystals designed by Master Artist and Kellie DeFries, the ‘Crystal Ninja’.
Behind the restaurant’s latest extravagancy is none other than Chef, Joe Calderone, who has designed several of Serendipity 3’s record breaking dishes.
In an exclusive interview, Creative Chef Joe Calderone told Travel Off Path that it's not only about tasting it “but enjoying the beauty of it as well”.
"The experience of having the Most Expensive Milkshake gives the perfect opportunity to really experience the milkshake not only by tasting it but by seeing it and enjoying the beauty of it as well as the incredible taste. It would make a great post!"
The premium and rare ingredients include Jersey Milk, Tahitian Vanilla Ice Cream, Devonshire Luxury Clotted Cream, Madagascar Vanilla Beans, 23 Karat Edible Gold, Simple Syrup Infused Whip Cream, Le Cremose Baldizzone (donkey caramel sauce) and Luxardo Gourmet Maraschino Cherries.
Serendipity 3
The legendary restaurant in Manhattan, New York opened in 1954 and has been the location for three hollywood movies One Fine Day (1996) with George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer, Serendipity (2001) with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale, and Trust The Man (2005) with Julianne Moore and David Duchovny.
Serendipty 3 was frequented back in the day by Andy Worhol, Grace Kelly and Marilyn Mounroe. Today celebrities such as Tom Cruise, Miley Cyrus, Leonardo DiCaprio, Beyonce, Ryan Reynolds, Selena Gomez and Kim Kardashian are the newest crop of A-listers that have been spotted at the restaurant.
The Experience
According to the Airbnb experience listing, you'll be ushered in the front door past Chef Joe Calderon's 4 Guiness World Records. Then you'll be seated with your guest at a VIP table that Marilyn Monroe once occupied.
Once seated you'll be served the ‘The LUXE' which earned the Guinness title for the ‘World's Most Expensive Milkshake'. Chef Joe will walk you through the sophisticated layers of flavor that the shake has to offer, while describing each ingredient. You'll enjoy the milkshake served in a Swarovski crystal embellished glass that contains over 3,000 crystals. Feel like a celebrity and enjoy the perfect opportunity to snap your Insta-worthy photos!
The cost of the Airbnb World's Most Expensive Milkshake experience is $136 per person and includes ‘The LUXE'. The calendar currently only shows openings on September 19th and 20th from 12:00pm until 5:00pm.
