As of 9:00 am PST, Monday February 10th, 2020, the customer support center at Air Canada has stopped taking phone calls.
UPDATE: Are you looking to change/cancel your Air Canada flight because of Coronavirus? Here are your options
Customers at this time are unable to change, cancel or modify flights.
When customers call the hotline, they're met with a message from the Director of Contact Centers for Air Canada apologizing.
“We are unable to place you on hold at this time”
The message explains that due to the Government of Canada's travel advisory to China, they are experiencing very high call volume.
For some customers that were fortunate enough to get through, they've experienced wait times up to 2 hours and then have been disconnected before actually getting to speak to a representative.
Twitter has erupted with angry passengers that can't contact anyone at Air Canada for help with upcoming flights.
Hey @AirCanada I need some help changing a flight. I can’t do it online because you made a change of schedule to the flight. I can’t do it by phone because you won’t place calls on hold? What do I do? Need to make change ASAP

@AirCanada Hi. I've been trying to call your toll free number since yesterday but it appears to be not working. Is there another phone number I can call?

@AirCanada Could someone get back to me on a flight question I have. I tried to call the contact center however it indicated they are not accepting calls. Please and Thank you!

Seriously @AirCanada, your customer service is terrible. You rescheduled my flight giving me an impossible alternative and I cannot call anyone or change it online. What am I supposed to do?
