With the summer travel season beginning to fade away, many are starting to turn their attention to planning a getaway for the fall.
While getting the time away from work and school can be a bit more difficult now that summer is over, many are able to sneak away for a bit, if even for a long weekend.
So if you are one of the many who are looking for a fall escape, there are certain American destinations that have been trending so far this year and show no signs of slowing down just because the weather will start to cool.
Popular vacation rental company HomesTo Go has determined the U.S. destinations that had the biggest growth in traveler search demand so far this year, and while the data is focused on summer travel plans, it’s safe to say these hotspots will remain popular long into the fall.
These Are The Top 8 Trending Destinations In The U.S. This Fall:
Jacksonville Beach, Florida
We know that Florida has no end of amazing beaches to visit, and this popular area saw a search demand increase of nearly 140% when compared with last year. Jacksonville Beach actually refers to the beaches that make up the Jacksonville area, including Ponte Vedra, Neptune, Atlantic, and Mayport beaches.
This area is known as Northeast Florida’s “First Coast” and visitors love to enjoy classic beach activities such as surfing, volleyball, fishing, and eating and drinking with their toes in the sand of course.

Miramar Beach is a favorite for its restaurants serving up fresh seafood, beachfront houses with jaw-dropping views of the expansive Gulf Of Mexico, many surf shops, and numerous scenic beach roads to explore.

This Florida beachside community is so picture-perfect that you might recognize it as the backdrop from the popular movie, The Truman Show.
While you probably won’t bump into Jim Carrey there, you can enjoy the white sand beaches, pastel-colored beach houses, perfectly manicured walking paths, and white picket fences.
Located only about two and a half hours from Tallahassee, this Northwest Florida beach community will make you feel right at home.

The area is home to hundreds of lakes, with the favorites being: Twin Lakes, Lake Mary, Lake George, Lake Mamie, Horseshoe Lake, Crowley Lake, and Convict Lake.

Des Moines, Iowa
Next up is another U.S. destination that is trending this year, which you can find far from any sunny beaches. Iowa’s capital city of Des Moines has been gaining traction as a city worth a visit, and people are showing up for a variety of recons.
Home to the award-winning Iowa State Fair in August must-see attractions include the Des Moines Art Center, Blank Park Zoo, Pappajohn Sculpture Park, and the impressive Capitol Building.
The farmer’s market is a favorite here, as is wandering among the very walkable districts such as East Village and Court Avenue District.

Saratoga Springs, New York
Many are surprised to hear that the Empire State has much more to offer than New York City, with trending and beautiful areas found upstate as well.
Tucked into the foothills of the Adirondack region, you can find the charming town of Saratoga Springs, which was designed in the late 1800s as a spa town retreat for weary New Yorkers.
Nowadays, Saratoga is famous for its horse racing, historic fort, first-class main street with dining and shopping, and of course mineral springs and natural beauty.
Located about 200 miles north of New York City and 200 miles northwest of Boston, Saratoga Springs can get crowded with people escaping the city, and fall is an especially busy time with the foliage fans, so plan accordingly.
