You can spend countless hours exploring Thailand and never stop finding new amazing places.
From bustling cultural cities, frenzied floating markets, unique wildlife experiences, and world-renowned beaches, Thailand is an endless playground for travelers to fulfill their sense of wanderlust.
Most travelers begin their Thai adventure in Bangkok, which is the most visited city in the nation.
One of the most iconic cities on this side of the world, not only is it incredible in its own right, but it makes for the perfect gateway to explore Thailand's coastlines, both popular and up-and-coming.
Phuket is undoubtedly the most well-known, with nearby islands becoming more popular as well.
There is, however, one magnificent stretch of coastline seeing a surge in popularity that nobody ever seems to talk about – the stunning region of Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Miles And Miles Of Paradise
Perhaps the reason no one brings up this gorgeous side of Thailand is because it seems out of reach, but that's not the case.
If you're willing to make the trek to Thailand epic islands, then there's no reason you can't do the same here.
Lying on the northern part of the Malay peninsula, the secret is coming out about how amazing this region is, with miles and miles of picture-perfect sandy beaches.
Cheap trains and buses are scheduled intermittently throughout the day to take you to paradise from Bangkok, with much of the ride offering scenic coastal views.
But once you arrive, it's a whole other level.
Seaside Resorts And White Sand Beaches
There are some small villages dotting the coast for an idyllic escape away from society, but if you want nice resorts and blissful days on white sand beaches, then the resort town of Hua Hin is your best bet.
You can let time whittle away, spending your beach time swimming in clear, blue waters or renting a lounge chair for some Vitamin D.
Hua Hin may not be a household name, but you'll recognize many of their hotels with Western luxury brands, such as Intercontinental and Hilton.
Best of all even budget travelers may be able to splurge on a ritzy stay. Both of these resorts are around $150 per night, which is unheard of in summer!
There are many other types of accommodations sputtered throughout the region, from hostels and Airbnbs to boutique hotels for even less.
While it's not going to affect travelers this year, Hua Hin is a destination you'll want to keep your eyes on as Hua Hin's airport is expect to open an international terminal in 2025.
Authentic Travel Experiences: Eye-Popping Temples And Local Markets
Any resort town is going to have tourists, but this entire region has unspoiled nature, less-crowded temples, and local markets for an authentic experience.
When you visit Bangkok, for example, some of the temples become quite crowded, and rightfully so.
Here, however, temples can be enjoyed with more elbow room and many are just as magnificent as what you'll find in Bangkok and other major cities.
You can spend countless hours at the beach, go temple-hopping around the area, and cap your day with a visit to a night market, a must anywhere in Thailand.
Prachuap Khiri Khan being a mouthful to say is simply foreshadowing your trip. The more markets you visit, the more you'll become a foodie, as Thailand is one of the best destinations for street food in the world.
Stunning National Parks And One-Of-A-Kind Islands
If there are two things, the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan is known for its incredible beaches and National Parks.
Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or not, you can't argue against this region's stunning beauty.
Tourists will encounter cave systems that seem like they're from another planet, and the opportunity to view wild elephants and majestic mountains.
The 3 most notable National Parks to visit are:
- Kui Buri National Park
- Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park
- Khao Ta Mong Lai Forest Park
The islands surrounding this province are worth making a trip to for even more incredible nature experiences.
Perhaps the most unique is Ko Kho Ram, also referred to as “Monkey Island”, where macaques are the only inhabitants and run wild.
It's advised to keep your phone in your pockets and not to feed them, but to simply enjoy viewing.
