Are you dreaming of a beach getaway and wondering what the top destinations in the Caribbean are right now?

We've got you covered! We used Google's Destination Insights tool to find the top 4 destinations to visit this summer.

Summer is a great time to visit the Caribbean as a whole if you're looking for good deals.

Technically, summer (and fall) is hurricane season in the Caribbean.

But you'll often find the best deals on flights and hotels during this time of the year, especially from June through November.

If you don't mind a high chance of afternoon thunderstorms and hotter, more humid weather, then summer is a surprisingly good value time to visit the Caribbean.

And these are the most popular destinations in the Caribbean right now, according to data from Google using their Destination Insights tool (check it out here).

Cancun, Mexico

To no one's surprise, Cancun is the number one hotspot in the Caribbean this summer — and the second most popular international travel destination in the world for American travelers, after London!

Cancun is just an easy destination. There are 40+ nonstop flights to Cancun from cities all around the United States, and many of them only take a few hours.

For example, check out these options on Google Flights here. You can fly round trip to Cancun from Miami for under $300 if you travel light, plus you can wake up at home and be in Mexican Caribbean paradise before dinner!

If you're looking for a relaxing, hassle-free vacation, Cancun is a great choice, because it has tons of all-inclusive resorts.

But it's also a good destination if you're looking for more adventure, with attractions like the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and the island of Cozumel nearby.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Next up is San Juan, Puerto Rico! I love San Juan because it's the perfect blend of city life, history, and culture with Caribbean beaches.

And Americans don't even need a passport to visit!

With 37 nonstop flights from the mainland United States, San Juan is a great destination for a long weekend getaway, offering something for everyone. (check out your options on Google Flights here)

San Juan, Puerto Rico, Latin America, United States

You can explore the historic colonial fortresses and quaint cobblestoned streets of Old San Juan, before hitting one of the city's beaches like Condado Beach. This is the perfect destination for active, adventurous travelers who don't just want to sit on the beach at an all-inclusive resort all day.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Another trending destination in the Caribbean right now is Punta Cana.

This resort town in the Dominican Republic is known for being fun and affordable — and it has some truly stunning beaches!

A trip to Punta Cana doesn't have to break the bank either. There's an abundance of all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana (nearly 80, in fact!), and many of them cost as little as $200 per night.

For example, the Meliá Caribe Beach Resort has availability in August for 2 guests for under $200 per night. (Check it out on Google Hotels here).

That's the price for your room, all meals, snacks, and drinks, and even some activities.

The Dominican Republic is one of the best-value destinations in the Caribbean, along with the next destination on this list, which is one of the reasons it's so popular with travelers.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Finally, from the island that brought us Bob Marley, reggae music, rum, and jerk chicken, Montego Bay is one of the most popular destinations in the Caribbean.

This Jamaican paradise is known for its all-inclusive resorts and amazing beaches — out of all the places I've been in the Caribbean, I actually think Montego Bay has some of the most beautiful, clear water perfect for swimming or snorkeling under the sun.

And despite recent travel advisories due to safety issues in Jamaica, the island is still setting tourism records.

As long as you stick to resort areas in Montego Bay, you don't have to worry, 'cause every little thing gonna be all right. (Bob Marley reference… couldn't resist!)
