The British company Virgin Hotels, part of the Virgin Group—created by Richard Branson— just opened its brand new hotel in New York City. It is the company’s first hotel in New York, the sixth in the United States, and the seventh worldwide.
Virgin Hotels New York City has opened its door ahead of time. According to a press release, the hotel had an official opening date in spring 2023, and now travelers can already enjoy the amenities and the great location.
The hotel occupies an entire block and is located at 1227 Broadway, at the heart of the NoMad neighborhood. It has 460 rooms across 39 stories, entertainment spaces, an exclusive outdoor pool club, restaurants, coworking space, and a dynamic and contemporary style.
Virgin Group offers travelers modern and special experiences across its cruise ships, airplanes, and hotels. Their customers will find exciting and unique features and amenities at this new hotel.
New York City is always trendy and attracts travelers from all over the world. The hospitality offer keeps growing. Hilton also recently announced a new brand that will debut in this city this year, and other hotels are offering travelers stays for less than $150.
Virgin Hotels New York City joins a competitive market and wants to offer travelers unforgettable experiences. Here’s what travelers should know:
More About Virgin Hotels New York City
The new Virgin Hotels New York City expects to offer travelers something they can’t easily find anywhere else, a difficult task considering that New York seems to have it all already, but the company seems confident about this.
Richard Branson, the founder of the Virgin Group, said: “I’m so proud of the amazing team behind Virgin Hotels New York, they have created something beyond my wildest dreams. Can’t wait to show you all!”
Opening rates start at $595, and there are special sales and offers for those booking soon. According to the information shared by Virgin, these are the hotel’s main amenities and features:
- It has 460 Chambers with floor-to-ceiling windows. Certain rooms have “unparalleled views of the Empire State Building, the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop, and Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade”.
- The entire third floor is the Everdene, a beautiful dining and drinking area.
- On the fourth floor, another restaurant will open its doors later this year.
- There’s an area to read and work called the Library.
- The Pool Club combines indoor and outdoor spaces and is exclusive for the hotel guests staying at the hotel.
- Free Wifi.
- Pet-friendly rooms and amenities.
Guests can also download Virgin Hotels App and request services like their vehicle from the valet, chat with the concierge, order room service, and even control room temperature.
The design and architecture were managed by the design firms MARKZEFF and Stantec. “As our first hotel in New York City, we wanted to create a concept that was unique yet thoughtful, fusing together the local landscape with the spirit of Virgin,” said James Bermingham, CEO of Virgin Hotels, and added: “We’re looking forward to becoming one of the most sought-after hotels around.”
Virgin Hotel Experience
The hotel chain already has properties in Nashville, Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, and New Orleans. The company expects to open another location in Miami and Denver in 2025. The concept of these hotels combines music, local culture, culinary experiences, and vibrant environments for travelers.
For now, travelers visiting New York City can stay at the new Virgin Hotel and get to enjoy the amazing views of the city landmarks, the special Pool Club, have a delicious culinary experience, and order special craft cocktails — or enjoy a luxurious night staying in Sir Richard’s Flat.
Customers are also encouraged to join “The Know,” the loyalty program that allows travelers to earn redeem points that can be exchanged for flights on Virgin Atlantic or cruises on Virgin Voyages as well.
