Why It’s Not Too Late To Book An Affordable Mexico Beach Resort This Summer

The heat of summer is taking over, meaning there is no better time to book a beach escape! However, some places have skyrocketed in costs.

Los Cabos, for example, is averaging $600 per night for hotel rooms. But don't let that deter you from the rest of the country.

While some say that may be worth it as Cabo is a ton of fun for making memories, others may opt for something more affordable.

Mexico is one of the most popular places on the planet for a beach getaway, and the good news is it's not too late to book a nice resort this summer. Why? Because Mexico is not just Cancun and Cabo.

Cabo may not make the cut, but many other gorgeous spots across Mexico won't break the bank. Travelers can still find beach resorts under $200 per night this summer, sometimes even less.

All it takes is a little digging and patience to find the right resort for you.

Puerto Vallarta Is Not As Expensive As You Might Think

Rivaling Cancun and Cabo with a surge in popularity this year, Puerto Vallarta might surprise you with some of the deals you can find on resorts this summer.

A quick search resulted in beach resorts showing a 5-star resort for $413 per night. But this can be tricky as many sites sort the results by what they think you want to see and not what may be best for you.

By simply sorting the page by lowest price, you start to find some gold in a sea of sargassum. Take these 3 resorts, for example:

  • Hilton Vallarta Riviera All-Inclusive Resort – $189 nightly
  • Barceló Puerto Vallarta (All Inclusive) – $180 nightly
  • Riu Vallarta (All Inclusive) – $145 nightly

Give Ixtapa A Chance

Ixtapa doesn't come to mind when most people think of the top beaches in Mexico. However, Ixtapa, along with its sister city, Zihuatanejo, were surprisingly ranked as top destinations in the country.

The average Joe may not have even heard of this region, but it is a wonderful place to vacation in the state of Guerrero.

  • Las Brisas Ixtapa (not all-inclusive) – $117 nightly
  • Krystal Ixtapa (not all-inclusive) – $127 nightly
  • Thompson Zihuatanejo, A Beach Resort (a Hyatt brand, not all-inclusive) – $199 nightly

The Mexican Caribbean is thriving with tourists this year as travel has made a major comeback. One of the many reasons why travelers flock here is to visit Cozumel.

Oaxaca's Many Beautiful Beaches

Travel + Leisure recently awarded Oaxaca as the #1 city in the world. This vibrant city is a cultural gem, and it's easy to see why it's deserving of that title.

However, the state of Oaxaca offers many beautiful beaches away from the city and there are beach resorts worthy of splurging on for the right price.

There are still many of them under $200 per night in summer, whether it's in Huatulco or Puerto Escondido:

  • Posada Real Puerto Escondido (not all-inclusive) – $152 nightly
  • Hotel Suites Villasol (not all-inclusive) – $172 nightly
  • Binniguenda Huatulco & Beach Club (not all-inclusive) – $185 nightly
