WOW Air Has Ceased Operations – How To Get a Refund for tickets

WOW Air has officially cancelled all flights and shut down all operations. In an official statement, the company is telling passengers to find flights with other airlines. Passengers are stranded across two continents as they scramble to make alternative travel arrangements. 

According to their website WOW Air will NOT be issuing refunds and passengers must check with their credit card provider if a refund can be issued.

How To Get a refund from WOW Air

WOW airlines was a low cost airline based out of Iceland that launched in 2012. In 2015 the airline expanded to North America. By November, 2018 the company was showing signs of financial trouble. 

Over the last couple days WOW air has cancelled multiple flights and experienced long delays leading up to the full shut down on March 28th, 2018. The company had 11 aircraft serving 26 destinations with over 1000 employees. 

WOW air had over 1000 employees who will be out of the job. No details have been made public as to what compensation if any the employees will receive. 

“We have run out of time and have unfortunately not been able to secure the funding of the company. I will never be able to forgive myself for not taking action sooner."
