If you have plans (or dreams) of a trip to paradise this winter, flying to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico's Jalisco state just got a little easier from Canada.
Flights Schedules Include Inaugural Routes
After months on pause, Canadian airlines are ramping up flights to the popular vacation destination of Puerto Vallarta for the end of the year and into 2022.
The routes on Canada’s major airlines include service from Vancouver to Puerto Vallarta on Air Canada, and Calgary and Vancouver to Puerto Vallarta via WestJet. Flights are also scheduled from October 10 between Toronto and Puerto Vallarta on sunny vacation airline Sunwing.
Low-cost airline Swoop resumed flight routes to Puerto Vallarta from Edmonton and Hamilton. Swoop flights to Puerto Vallarta departing from Toronto and Abbotsford are scheduled to resume next month. Swoop’s updated flight schedule also includes an inaugural route from Winnipeg.
Air Transat, arguably Canada’s most popular vacation destination airline, is set to resume flight routes from Montreal and Toronto after completely pausing all flight services back in January.

Announcement Comes After Months-Long Hiatus
This announcement comes as great news for the travel industry following a months-long hiatus, when the Canadian government called for a suspension of all flight services from Canada to destinations throughout Mexico and the Caribbean back in January. All other international flight arrivals were rerouted to only four Canadian airports (Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal) and a hotel quarantine was required upon arrival.
Flights to Mexico on Air Canada and WestJet slowly resumed in June and July, with some airlines adding new domestic and international flight routes to better serve Canadian travelers.

Flights from Canada will soon transport only vaccinated travelers. That is convenient for businesses in Mexico who decided to refuse any vaccinated patron into their premises in order to protect the unvaccinated to get infected. Canadians would not be allowed to enter the premise unless he/she can show proof that he/she entered the country by land.
