Great news for Canadian travelers! The Canadian low-cost carrier Sunwing has recently announced in a press release that they will be extending their network and routes to offer travelers in Canada more alternatives to escape to the Caribbean and other sunny beach destinations during winter.
Sunwing has made adjustments to its initial winter schedule and doubled its capacity compared to the previous winter season. The decision has also been made considering that the Canadian government recently ended all covid-19 related travel restrictions and understanding travelers’ current demands.
Andrew Dawson, President of Tour Operations, said: “The increasing demand for travel is incredibly welcome news for our company and the entire Canadian travel industry, and we are delighted that the government is lifting travel measures starting in October, which will undoubtedly drive more bookings for travel to sun destinations this winter.”
Dawson also showed excitement towards this winter season and the fantastic travel opportunities they are offering travelers: not only excellent flight connections but also great vacation packages. The President of Tour Operations also highlighted new destinations like Cayo Largo in Cuba and Melbourne in Florida and said that more routes will be added soon depending on customers' demands.

Fascinating Beach Destinations
Spending a few weeks on beautiful beaches and pristine water and enjoying the wonderful weather is everyone’s dream, especially when the local weather is below zero. “We look forward to adding even more routes and destinations to support evolving demand in the months ahead, and encourage Canadians to book their holiday and winter vacations quickly to unlock the best vacation at the best price!” said Dawson.
Starting in November, Sunwing will be offering many alternatives to flights from Canada to top destinations, such as:
- Cancun, Mexico
- Los Cabos, Mexico
- Acapulco, Mexico
- Mazatlán, Mexico
- Montego Bay, Jamaica
- Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
- La Romana, Dominican Republic
- Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
- Cayo Largo, Cuba
- Varadero, Cuba
- Panama
- Grenada
- Costa Rica
- Aruba
The company has also recently announced special vacation packages for the Dominican Republic, offering travelers flights and nights at the Be Live Hotels. These vacation bundles start at $945 Canadian dollars for a 7 days vacation at an all-inclusive resort.
From Different Cities In Canada
Sunwing is offering Caribbean travelers many options to escape from the cold weather and enjoy sunny destinations. The city with more alternatives for the new schedules of the winter season is Toronto, followed by Montréal, Calgary, and Vancouver.
However, this low-cost carrier has a great network in Canada, operates from 33 Canadian airports, and has recently added new interesting international routes like non-stop flights from Kelowna to Mazatlan and Cancun.
The carrier has also recently announced more affordable flights and routes from Ottawa to trendy vacation spots like Los Cabos, Cancun, Montego Bay, and Punta Cana.
Sunwing serves international destinations from cities such as Bagotville, Edmonton, Fredericton, Halifax, Hamilton, Kitchener, London, Moncton, Québec City, Regina, Saskatoon, Sudbury, and Winnipeg.
Sunwing’s Expansion
This Canadian airline—founded in 2022— has recently added aircraft to its fleets and will be serving over 30 destinations for the winter. The packages and hotel services Sunwing is currently offering are alliances with over 700 hotels.
Canadian travelers can now enjoy more beach destinations, stay at the best all-inclusive resorts for a tropical getaway and choose from all the alternatives available.
Sunwing is one of the airlines competing in the Canadian aviation market to offer travelers more options and dethrone Air Canada and WestJet. Canadians will get to travel more this winter and even avoid all the annoying pandemic requirements such as PCR tests, wearing masks, and the use of the ArriveCan system.
