We’ve fallen head over heels for repositioning cruises and there is no turning back. They are without a doubt the best way to travel from Point A to Point B.
When we find a great deal on repositioning cruises, it just makes them a ‘no brainer’ way of transportation and a great alternative to flying.
In fall 2018 we took the Celebrity Millennium from Vancouver to Tokyo as an alternative to flying and the dreaded jetlag. Not only did we circumvent the torturously long flights, but we got 15 days of bliss for the same price as what economy plane tickets would have been.
We loved it so much that we used another Celebrity repositioning cruise to get home again in April 2019. The 14-day journey took us right back to Vancouver where we started, and left us with memories of a lifetime!
Now, to say we are obsessed with repositioning cruises is almost an understatement. Every day we are looking for great deals and itineraries where we can use cruising as a form of transportation as well as entertainment.
There are 5 incredible repositioning cruises coming up this fall with Celebrity that all start under $1000 per person. One of them in particular we REALLY want to book, but we wanted to share all of them so you can experience the affordable luxury of repositioning cruises!
*Know prices for cruises can change by the second. At the time of writing this, all cruises are under $1000 but that will change each time a stateroom is booked. Could go up, could go down!
5 Celebrity Repositioning Cruises in 2019 Under $1000
Vancouver to Tokyo on the Celebrity Millennium
→ September 6 2019 – 15 nights
→ Starting at $724
→ 5 Ports, 10 Sea Days
This is the exact same cruise we took last fall, only the entire ship has been completely renovated top to bottom. If you are planning a trip to Asia this fall, sailing on this cruise instead of flying will save you money on expensive flights, but also give you two weeks of luxury!
The transpacific itinerary has a LOT of sea days, so it’s perfect for people who just want to relax and get involved with what’s on board.
Stops happen in Sitka, Alaska and then none until they hit the coast of Japan with Otaru, Hakodate and finally Tokyo.
Rome to Miami on the Celebrity Infinity
→ October 11 2019 – 14 nights
→ Starting at $779
→ 6 Ports, 9 Sea Days
Escape Europe just as the cold is starting to set in and head to warmer South Florida for the winter. You get three stops in Spain (Barcelona, Cartagena, and Malaga) before heading out to the Canary Islands, and then a week straight of sea days before you hit Miami.
While the Infinity ship is a little dated, it’s still an incredible vessel to cross the Atlantic Ocean in, especially at this price. A full refurbishment will be done November 2020.
Rome to Dubai on the Celebrity Constellation
→ November 18 2019 – 15 nights
→ Starting at $784
→ 6 Ports, 7 Sea Days, 1 Overnight
The itinerary on this cruise is so diverse! You get to see Italy, Greece, sail through the Suez Canal, then visit Jordan, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. If you like excursions, there are many bucket-list ones to have on this sailing. You can see Petra, the Dead Sea, Acropolis and the Grand Mosque. The Constellation ship is also one of the favorites in Celebrity’s fleet by frequent cruisers because of it’s more intimate size and layout.
Los Angeles to San Antonio, Chile on the Celebrity Eclipse
→ November 20 2019 – 16 nights
→ Starting at $949
→ 9 Ports, 8 Sea Days
This is the cruise we are seriously looking at booking! I absolutely love the mix of ports and sea days and it stops in some wonderful places very close to my heart. The stops I am most excited about are two in Mexico where I used to live when I was younger (Puerto Vallarta and Huatulco) and Manta, Ecuador where we lived for 6 months back in 2015.
The Eclipse goes down the entire pacific coast from the US stopping in Mexico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, and Chile.
Dubai to Singapore on the Celebrity Constellation
→ December 3 2019 – 15 nights
→ Starting at $999
→ 8 Ports, 6 Sea Days, 1 Overnight
Discover the Middle East, India and South East Asia on this unique cruise. You’ll get to stop in Oman, 3 cities in India, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Singapore. Get off in Singapore just in time to visit family for Christmas! See the Burj Khalifa, Taj Mahal, the beaches of Phuket and the Marina Sands Bay. This cruise is a great way to see expensive cities like Dubai because you don’t need to fork over anything for hotel rooms!
Yes, there are MANY more repositioning cruises from other brands, but we really find the best value is with Celebrity! They have the highest levels of service, incredible food, and a very luxurious atmosphere.
Hopefully this gives you some ideas on how to end your 2019 with a bang!
