Lawrence-Daley told Delaware Online in an interview Tuesday that it was never her intention to cost anyone their jobs, even temporarily.

“I feel really bad because I wouldn’t want anybody to be out of work or anything like that, I wouldn’t wish anything bad against the resort. But we did read that they were closing due to low occupancy, which I believe is due to the viral nature of my posting on Facebook. People were very upset about how Majestic handled the situation.”

According to her lawyers, Lawrence-Daley filed a lawsuit against Majestic Resorts in July. She is suing for $3 million to compensate for “permanent, life-changing injuries” The lawsuit came after three weeks of being in the national spotlight.

“I was kicked in the head, I was beaten with a club, and then strangled again for the kill.” Lawrence-Daley said in her Facebook post

Lawrence-Daley was in the hospital for five days, where she was treated for cuts and bruises and had surgery to repair her gum line. She says she now lives with physical ailments including nerve damage and “permanent disfigurement.”
