Easy Entry Requirements by Country For US Travelers

Aruba

  • A valid passport for the duration of your stay.
  • Complete the Aruba Online ED Card (Embarkation/Disembarkation card) within 72 hours before arrival. ($20 sustainability fee)
  • Americans can stay for up to 90 days per visit.
  • Proof of return ticket or sufficient funs to support your trip may be required.

Argentina

Argentina Entry Requirements For US Citizens The Simple Guide
  • Valid passport (6+ months validity).
  • No visa required.
  • 90-day stay (renewable).
  • Proof of return/onward ticket may be required.

  • A valid passport, valid for at least three months beyond your intended stay.
  • ETIAS travel authorization will be required starting in late 2026.
  • Americans can visit Austria and the entire Schengen Area for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
  • Proof of onward travel and sufficient funds to support your trip may be required for Austria.

Bahamas

  • Stays up to 90 days permitted

Barbados

Belgium

  • ETIAS travel authorization will be required starting in late 2026.
  • Americans can visit Belgium and the entire Schengen Area for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
  • Proof of onward travel and sufficient funds to support your trip may be required for Belgium.

Belize

  • A completed Embarkation/Disembarkation e-form submitted online before arrival in the country
  • Proof of onward travel, such as a return ticket
  • US citizens should be aware that they may be asked to show proof of sufficient funds to cover the cost of their stay in Belize

Brazil

  • A valid passport on the day you arrive
  • No visa required for tourism, business, transit, artistic, or sports activities, with a stay of up to 90 days (extendable) until April 9, 2025.
  • Starting April 10, 2025: An electronic visa (e-visa) will be required.

Cambodia

Canada

  • A valid passport
  • You can visit Canada for up to 6 months without a visa.  
  • A border officer may grant a shorter or longer stay.  
  • There are no official limits on how often you can visit.

Chile

  • No visa required for tourism stays up to 90 days.
  • You may be asked for proof of onward travel.

Colombia

  • Upon arrival, U.S. citizens are granted tourist visas for 90 days.  
  • It is possible to extend this initial period for another 90 days, but not further.  
  • Fill out the Check-mig electronic form 72 hours prior to your trip.

Costa Rica

  • A valid passport good for at least one day after your stay in Costa Rica
  • A return or onward ticket
  • A damaged passport may be grounds for not allowing entry into the country.  
  • US citizens can typically stay for up to 180 days without a visa

Croatia

Croatia Entry Requirements For US Citizens Your Easy Guide
  • A valid U.S. passport, valid for at least three months beyond your intended stay.
  • No visa required for tourism stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period (Schengen Area rule).
  • Potential requests for proof of onward travel and sufficient funds.

Cuba

  • A Cuban Tourist Card (visa) is required.
  • Travel to Cuba for tourism purposes is prohibited by US law. Americans must meet the requirements of one of the 12 authorized categories of travel.
  • Travelers must have a valid reason to visit Cuba.

Dominican Republic

  • A valid passport valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay.  
  • A return or onward ticket  
  • The tourist card fee is usually included in your airfare.  
  • While rarely requested, it is advisable to have some evidence that you have sufficient funds to support yourself during your stay.  
  • Having a confirmed hotel reservation or vacation rental booking provides important information about your accommodation plans to the immigration officials.  
  • US citizens can stay for up to 30 days without a visa

Ecuador

  • A valid passport valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay.
  • No visa required for tourism stays up to 90 days within a 12-month period.
  • You may be asked for proof of sufficient funds and a return ticket.

Egypt

  • A valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining.
  • A tourist visa is required. US citizens can obtain a single-entry 30-day visa on arrival at Egyptian airports for a fee (currently $25 USD). You can also apply for an e-visa online in advance. Multiple-entry visas are also available.
  • If only visiting the resorts in the Sinai Peninsula (Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba, Taba) for up to 15 days, a visa may not be required, and you may receive a free entry permission stamp. However, to travel outside these areas, a visa is necessary.

France

  • A valid passport

  • The ETIAS will be valid for multiple trips over three years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first.

Germany

  • A valid passport
  • Stay under 90 days within a six-month window.  
  • ETIAS travel authorization (stay tuned for launch date on our Germany guide below).
  • A copy of the traveler's flight itinerary and hotel reservation.  
  • Proof of return ticket or sufficient funs to support your trip may be required

Greece

  • You can stay in Greece for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

India

Indonesia

  • Visa on Arrival (VoA) grants a 30-day stay in the country with the option of a single 30-day extension.  
  • For Bali, get the e-visa before arrival for expedited immigration using e-gates.
  • A damaged passport may be grounds for not allowing entry into the country
  • Proof of return/onward ticket required

  • A valid passport valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay.
  • No visa is required for tourist stays up to 90 days.
  • Be prepared for thorough security

Italy

Jamaica

  • Completed Jamaica's online Digital Entry Form  
  • Upon arrival, a visitor's permit will be granted to the individual.  
  • The permit allows the individual to stay in Jamaica for 90 days.  
  • Proof of anticipated departure from Jamaica may be required

Kenya

  • An e-visa is required and must be obtained online before arrival.
  • You may be asked to provide proof of onward travel and sufficient funds.

Korea

Mexico

  • When arriving in the country, it is common practice to be granted a stay of 180 days but it's not guaranteed and up to the discretion of the border agent.  
  • The FMM (Forma Migratoria Múltiple) is no longer required for most cities, especially if arriving by air.

Morocco

  • A valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining beyond your intended stay.
  • No visa is required for tourist stays up to 90 days.

Netherlands

  • Proof of sufficient funds and a return plane ticket may be required

New Zealand

  • A valid passport with at least three months of validity beyond your intended date of departure.
  • A New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) is required for US citizens traveling for tourism or transit under the visa waiver program. Apply well in advance (up to 72 hours processing time). The NZeTA is valid for multiple visits for up to two years.
  • You may need to show proof of onward travel and sufficient funds to support your stay.
  • All travelers must complete the New Zealand Traveler Declaration.

Panama

Panama Entry Requirements For US Citizens The Easy Guide
  • A valid passport with at least three months of validity remaining from your intended date of departure from Panama.
  • No visa required. Tourist visa granted upon arrival for up to 180 days (cumulative within a 12-month period).
  • May need to show proof of onward travel.
  • Proof of sufficient funds to support your trip

Peru

Peru Entry Requirements For Americans The Easy Guide
  • A valid passport valid for at least six months beyond your intended date of entry.
  • Officials will stamp your passport and likely write down the exact number of days you're allowed to stay based on your travel plans.
  • Typically a stay of up to 183 days within a 365-day period is permitted for tourism.
  • Evidence of a return or onward travel may be required.
