This news comes on the heels of an announcement that Frontier will launch a new unlimited flight pass this summer.

Why People Love Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico has long been a popular destination for U.S. tourists. It is close, well-connected, affordable, and welcoming. It is especially convenient for American travelers because they use the U.S. Dollar, and no passport or visa is needed to enter. The beautiful beaches, thriving culture, and exciting nightlife mean that visitors can have a versatile vacation without traveling far or spending too much.  And now that Frontier is adding additional 7 additional direct routes from the U.S., there is no better time to plan a vacation to Puerto Rico.

New Routes Into San Juan

Most passengers traveling to Puerto Rico fly into San Juan Airport, which is a 15-minute ride from the city center. This vibrant capital city is where visitors can have it all – historic sites, beautiful architecture, fantastic food, and incredible nightlife. The city is also in close proximity to several beaches and is a good base for exploring other areas. A can’t-miss is Old San Juan – an incredible place to explore the city’s 500 years of history. Its storied forts, old city walls, and cobblestone streets make it the perfect place to take it all in.

New Route Into Ponce

Travelers headed to Puerto Rico’s southern district can fly into Mercedita International Airport in Ponce, Puerto Rico’s second-largest city. The airport, which was closed for a year during the pandemic, has been reopened since the spring of 2021.

Ponce is known as Museum City and is a great place to become immersed in Puerto Rican culture. The city is home to art, music, and history museums, and visitors can also tour nearby coffee farms and distilleries. While the city itself is worth a visit, flying into Ponce also gives vacationers easier access to the island’s remote southern beaches. It is also a great base for those seeking outdoor adventures.
