Hyatt just announced the latest addition to their portfolio, and travelers should be excited to hear what they are all about!

A new brand, Hyatt Studios, has been approved for construction in over 100 locations around “the Americas”.

Aiming to cater to long-term guests primarily, this new branch of hotels will offer the necessary amenities and more to make Hyatt Studios a home away from home.

Although, those staying for a short period and for business purposes will surely benefit from the apartment-style rooms too.

Travelers will have to be patient as they won’t be able to book a reservation until 2024 at the very earliest.

No official date, or location, has been provided for where the first grand opening will be. The first shovel in the dirt is expected to break ground this year.

But, as the saying goes, good things come to those who wait.

What Makes Hyatt Studios Stand Out?

Hyatt Studios will be in alignment with other Hyatt sub-brands for guests' expectations, such as:

  • Hyatt House

  • Hyatt Place

Those who stay at these properties can expect the same consistent quality experience and level of hospitality at the Hyatt Studios when they open their doors.

As is in the name, rooms will be designed like mini studio apartments, where guests can enjoy the cozy floorplan of Hyatt’s signature contemporary design features.

Hyatt plans to challenge the notion that their competitors within the hotel industry and similarly styled vacation rentals will outdo them in comfortability, convenience and affordability.

According to Amy Weinburg, Senior Vice President of Brand, Loyalty and Data, Hyatts Studios will cater to the high-end guest within this niche.

There are plenty of extended-stay brands in the market already, and Hyatt Studios will separate itself from the pack by offering a place to stay that will have “the coziness of a studio apartment and the positive energy of being in a creative studio,” all while still be affordable.

The guest rooms will be intentionally designed for extended stays with suites and kitchen perks to make guests feel comfortable in their temporary homes.

Even though the kitchen space will be tempting to use, the complimentary breakfast to take on the run might change your mind.

There will also be a top-notch market open 24 hours daily with plenty of options to match guests' cravings.

Whether it's on a healthy snack, a full meal, or a delightful dessert to satisfy a sweet tooth, the market will be a go-to stop.

Which Cities Will Have a Hyatt Studios Hotel?

Hyatt, as a whole, has an endless resume in the hospitality industry. Combining all of their brands, the Hyatt portfolio includes over 1200 hotels and all-inclusive resorts across 6 continents.

All that is known pertaining to specific locations is the 100 approved hotels will be spread across “the Americas”.

Does that mean Canada? The United States? Panama? Mexico? Costa Rica?

Without official word in Hyatt’s recent announcement, it’s hard to know where to expect Hyatt Studios to be built in the next couple of years.

However, they are dropping hints slowly but surely. It seems the brand will focus on the road less traveled in smaller underserved markets.

The new locations may only be where there are currently no Hyatt properties at all, according to Hyatt’s Chief Growth Officer, Jim Chu.

Chu went on to say that they found a “white space” for the brand, which created a good opportunity to launch the new brand in new areas that can cater to customers of a new and growing segment.

With the launch of the new brand, Hyatt hopes to foster growth in its World of Hyatt membership, which allows customers to get a percentage off their stays and earn free nights — which should be easy to do during an extended stay at Hyatt Studios.
