We are traveling to Mexico in December, 2021. We have had our covid vaccine. What are the requirements foe entering Mexico and returning back to the United States?

Mexico has no entry requirements, as we've explained in this article. :) Very easy, just a simple online form.

To return back to the USA, you will need a 72-hour antigen test, although I doubt this will still be a thing come December. Check back with us closer to your date

I believe it should be done on the day of the flight. You can have a printed copy if it clearly shows the QR code
