Norwegian Cruises Launches New Health and Safety Measures For Reopening

Norwegian is the first major cruise line to announce reopening health and safety protocols in a new video the company released on Wednesday. 

The video details new health and sanitation protocols that were brought on by the covid-19 pandemic.

The video highlights six areas the company will be focused on when Norwegian returns to the seas. 

The six areas include: 

  • Enhanced screening protocols for guests and crew
  • Responsible social distancing
  • Enhanced medical resources
  • All-new air filtration
  • Increased sanitation measures
  • Extended ship to shore safety.

The company released a short and extended version featuring the President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Lines Harry Sommer,  Vice President-International Business Todd Hamilton and Chief Sales Officer Katina Athanasiou.

Norwegian Health and Safety Protocols Video

Nowegian Cruises has scheduled a tentative reopening sailing on October 1st, 2020. 

According to the Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) website, one of the first sailings is a 4 day cruise departing from Port Canveral on the Norwegian Sun to the Bahamas.

In October and November, Norwegian cruises has tentative sailings departing from the following locations. 

  • New York
  • Miami
  • Orlando
  • Barcelona
  • Rome
  • Athens
  • Venice
  • Copenhagen
  • Honolulu
  • London
