Paraguay, being one of the last nations in South America to reopen for tourism, is once again allowing foreigners to enter.
Granted, it's one of the least visited nations on the continent, but it's growing in popularity for those that want to get off the beaten path.
Here is everything you need to know, including all covid-related entry requirements, before traveling to Paraguay.
Countries Permitted To Visit Paraguay
Travelers from all countries are permitted to visit Paraguay under regular visa requirements and immigration laws.
Health Declaration Form
All passengers, both foreigners and citizens, will need to complete the online Health Declaration Form
The form must be completed up to 24 hours before the flight.
It is one of the most comprehensive questionnaires we've seen this year, even asking about other non-relevant vaccination information.
Paraguay's COVID-19 Testing Entry Requirements
Pre-Flight Testing Required.
All passengers arriving in Paraguay must present proof of a negative Covid test, taken no longer than 72 hours prior to the first embarkation point.
Paraguay is accepting PCR, LAMP and Nucleic Acid tests.
Paraguay is also allowing those who've had a positive (and fully recovered) diagnosis of the disease to enter with a medical certificate showing the positive result within 14-90 days of arrival.
Children under 12 do not need a test for entry.
Take an additional PCR test on day 5.
Quarantine Entry Requirements
There are no quarantines for passengers who bring the 72-hour PCR/LAMP/NAA test.
Visitors who test positive on day 5 will be made to quarantine for 7 days.
COVID-19 Travel Insurance Entry Requirements
Insurance required for entry.
All incoming travelers must have travel insurance the covers COVID-19 for the duration of their trip to Paraguay.
COVID-19 Health Requirements While in Paraguay
All visitors must follow current health requirements while in Paraguay
- Wearing a mask is required in all public places, including transit.
- Maintain physical distancing of 1.5 meters.
- Home gatherings can host up to 25 people, with mandatory use of face masks.
- There is a restriction on free movement from 1:00 am to 5:00 am.
COVID-19 Vaccine Entry Requirements
Paraguay has not announced any mandates if a proof of vaccine record will be required for entry in the future.
Visa Entry Requirements For Paraguay During COVID-19
All countries marked in dark blue can visit Paraguay for up to 90 days visa-free. (includes the UK, Mexico and most of the EU)
Countries in light blue indicate visa is available upon arrival only if flying into ASU airport. Otherwise, it will have to be applied for ahead of time. (includes Canada, USA, and Australia)
All grey countries must apply for a visa ahead of time before departing.

- Check to see if your country needs a visa
- Perform a PCR, LAMP or NAA test 72 hours before your flight
- Between 24 hours and 30 minutes before your flight, fill out the online health form
- Follow all health protocols while in Paraguay
