How Vaccination Exemption Works

Travelers that have received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine must bring proof of vaccination in the form of a vaccination passport or certificate validated by your country of origin, in English that includes the following information:

  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Healthcare system ID
  • Vaccine type and dates of two vaccine doses

The proof of vaccination or vaccine passport must be uploaded to the Madeira Safe app or website prior to arrival. Ensure you also bring the physical copy in case you are asked upon arrival.

Vaccinate travelers must ensure that they have followed all recommendations regarding their specific vaccine before traveling to Madeira including the activation time and immunity schedule.
