Everyone knows and loves Punta Cana for its beautiful beaches, resorts with amazing ocean views, extraordinary culinary and cultural experiences, and so much more.
However, there are other destinations in the Dominican Republic gaining popularity among Americans.
There are three regions in the Dominican Republic that are growing in popularity as more hotels and resorts are being built to accommodate the growing demand for this gorgeous Caribbean country.
In the Northeastern region, Miches and Samaná have new projects underway. Companies are taking notice of the growing interest surrounding the region, and Hodelpa, one of the largest hospitality groups in the Dominican Republic, recently announced they will be building a massive resort in Samana.
To the North, in Punta Bergantín and Puerto Plata, there are exciting developments in process, including tourist homes, cultural centers, and golf courses.
And, on the Southwestern coast, travelers are enjoying Cabo Rojo and Pedernales, where companies like Wyndham are building properties in this up-and-coming resort hotspot.
The Dominican Republic has been experiencing a tourism boom, and Americans love it. During Easter, over 180,000 visitors arrived, hotel occupancy reached 95%, and the government expects even more travelers soon.
In order to sustain demand, local authorities and hospitality companies are expanding services and properties and adding new and interesting tourism experiences in great destinations like Miches, Puerto Plata, and Cabo Rojo.
