I went to Jekyll last year. You pay 8 or 9 bucks cant remember which every time you leave and come back to the island. There is a grocery store but it very over priced comparably but well stocked and convenient. I paid more for lodging for a smaller older space than any other beach vacation I have had. We found that many restaurants did not open or closed early due to staffing issues. Food was typical beach prices for the most part at restaurants. But under no circumstances would I consider this a budget place. I have stayed in multiple places in Florida. I have always found better prices on the gulf coast and the St. Augustin area. My expenses for Jekyll for 3 days were more than what it cost for 6 days in Palm Coast Florida last year.
