Are you looking for an affordable vacation in the United States?
From national parks to mountains to beaches, these are the cheapest destinations in the U.S. for an affordable vacation, according to new rankings from U.S. News.
Many of these destinations offer affordable accommodations (including the option to camp) and cheaper prices on food and activities. You won't find pricy cities like New York or Los Angeles on this list, but you will find some of the most beautiful national parks and underrated gems in the United States.
1. Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon is one of the most famous landmarks in the United States, and it can also be a very affordable destination depending on how you plan your trip.
Visiting in the off-season (yes, you can go to the Grand Canyon any time of year, including winter!) and camping and cooking for yourself are excellent ways to save money.
2. Glacier National Park
Another affordable U.S. vacation destination is Glacier National Park in Montana.
If you enjoy hiking through dramatic mountain scenery and clear blue alpine lakes, this is the perfect national park to visit. The best time to visit is during summer, but since this is also the most popular time to visit, be sure to book your trip well in advance to save money.
3. Grand Teton National Park
Grand Teton National Park is one more great national park destination that can make for a budget-friendly vacation.
Located in Wyoming, this national park is known for its jaw-dropping mountain scenery and wildlife, including bison, elk, black bears, and grizzly bears.

5. Bar Harbor
If you're looking for an affordable destination in the Northeast, look no further than Bar Harbor, Maine.
This laidback beach town has a variety of accommodations, including budget-friendly options. You can save the most money by visiting in the shoulder season (May or September) when it's less crowded.
6. Cannon Beach
Cannon Beach, which is about 80 miles northwest of Portland, is a great vacation destination in the Pacific Northwest.
This coastal town makes the perfect base for exploring the rest of the Oregon coast.
7. Asheville
Asheville, North Carolina is a great vacation destination in the United States. Tucked away in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, this growing town has a lot to offer.
Known for its craft breweries, great restaurants, art gallery scene, and stunning Biltmore Estate, Asheville is the perfect place to visit for your next vacation.

Sequoia National Park in California is another affordable national park destination in the United States if you're looking for a cheap vacation.
This national park is best known for its towering sequoia trees, as the name suggests.
9. Olympic National Park
Located in northwestern Washington, Olympic National Park has some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Pacific Northwest.
There are affordable hotels nearby, or you can save even more money by camping. July and August are the months with the best weather, so that's when the park is at its most crowded. Book well in advance to lock in the best rates.
