From national parks to mountains to beaches, these are the cheapest destinations in the U.S. for an affordable vacation, according to new rankings from U.S. News.
Many of these destinations offer affordable accommodations (including the option to camp) and cheaper prices on food and activities. You won’t find pricy cities like New York or Los Angeles on this list, but you will find some of the most beautiful national parks and underrated gems in the United States.
1. Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon is one of the most famous landmarks in the United States, and it can also be a very affordable destination depending on how you plan your trip.

3. Grand Teton National Park

Located in Wyoming, this national park is known for its jaw-dropping mountain scenery and wildlife, including bison, elk, black bears, and grizzly bears.

5. Bar Harbor
If you’re looking for an affordable destination in the Northeast, look no further than Bar Harbor, Maine.
This laidback beach town has a variety of accommodations, including budget-friendly options. You can save the most money by visiting in the shoulder season (May or September) when it’s less crowded.

This coastal town makes the perfect base for exploring the rest of the Oregon coast.
