Where Travelers Can Get a Covid Test In Mexico

While entry into Mexico is still test-free, all visitors from Canada, the USA, or the UK will now need proof of a negative test in order to return home. Some travelers have been nervous about finding test sites abroad but rest assured Mexico won’t leave you hanging.

Mexico has seen an impressive tourism rebound throughout the pandemic and they aren’t about to let testing requirements from other countries stop that. Hotels, clinics, hospitals and mobile labs all over Mexico are offering both PCR and Rapid Antigen type tests that travelers need to fly home.

Some hotels in Mexico are offering testing services free for guests, while others have labs set up on the property for a fee. Tourists staying in AirBnB’s or rental properties can visit labs, hospitals and clinics, with some offering to come to your house for an extra fee.

Below we have a list of many different places you can get a Covid test (both PCR and Antigen) in the most popular cities/states in Mexico. This list will be added to constantly as we find new testing sites.

What type of Covid test do you need to fly home from Mexico?

Canada – PCR-type test, performed no longer than 72 hours before departing on the flight back to Canada. Antigen not accepted.

UK – PCR-type test, performed no longer than 72 hours before departing on the flight back to the UK. Antigen not accepted.

USA – PCR-type test – OR – Rapid antigen-type test, performed no longer than 72 hours before departing on the flight back to the U.S.
