Plans for the reopening of Cambodia for tourism are officially under way.
Officials in the Kingdom of Cambodia announced earlier this week that the country will begin a partial reopening for fully vaccinated international travelers starting November 30, as reported by the Associated Press.

What Are The Details Of Cambodia’s Reopening?
Cambodia’s reopening process will proceed in phases, with the first phase beginning at the end of next month. From November 30, fully vaccinated international visitors, including those from the U.S., Canada and the UK, can travel to Cambodia without having to quarantine upon arrival as long as they stay at least five days in one of the designated tourist areas.
These designated areas for the first phase of reopening will be the southern provinces of Sihanoukville and Koh Rong. Both areas are amongst the most popular in Cambodia with tourists. The islands of Koh Rong in the Gulf of Thailand, for instance, are known for having some of the most idyllic beaches in the world.

To travel to Cambodia, visitors must show proof of full vaccination and a pre-departure negative Covid test result. On arrival, travelers will be given a rapid Covid test. If the test comes back negative, the traveler can proceed without having to quarantine. It will also be recommended for all visitors arrive with travel medical insurance that covers Covid.
Travelers must stay within the designated area for at least five days and will have to take another test before being allowed to travel to other regions of the country, according to Cambodia’s Tourism Ministry.

Siem Reap Province Scheduled To Welcome Back Fully Vaccinated Travelers By January 2022
According to Cambodia’s reopening plan, Siem Reap province is scheduled to become one of the quarantine-free areas by January 2022. The province is home to the tourist-friendly city of Siem Reap and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor Wat,
The plan is to gradually add other regions to the list if the phased reopening proves to be successful and there is no outbreak in cases. At this time, over 95 percent of Cambodia’s population is fully vaccinated. You can see the latest case reports here.

Cambodia’s Prime Minister Releases Statement On Reopening
Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen released an official statement on the reopening process earlier today. In his statement, he mentioned details the terms of the phased reopening.
Based on the vision of “thinking about the people, thinking about the economy, thinking about the future”, the Royal Government adheres to a proactive and practical spirit with a clear plan to promote Cambodia’s tourism sector by launching a “Roadmap on Rehabilitation Plan of tourism of Cambodia during and after the Covid-19 crisis and the tourism development master plan for the main targets, which are key documents as strategic goals for the future of Cambodia’s tourism sector.
