Cambodia will drop quarantine on arrival for all fully vaccinated tourists from November 15 after 20 months of COVID-19 entry restrictions.
Cambodia’s Prime Minister, Hun Sen, made the announcement on social media, ending the lengthy quarantine period in place from March 2020.
“After seeing that people have two doses and a negative COVID test, they will be allowed to travel all over the Kingdom of Cambodia,” Hun Sen stated.
He further stated, “Those who have not been vaccinated must be quarantined for 14 days, but for those who have already been vaccinated with two doses, both Cambodians and foreigners entering the Kingdom of Cambodia, are no longer required to be quarantined.”
The Full Entry Requirements From November 15
Travelers who’ve received both vaccinations can enter Cambodia without quarantine from today if they have proof of vaccination. However, unvaccinated tourists will have to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in a government hotel.
Travelers and business people must undergo mandatory PCR tests upon arrival and wait at their hotel until they’ve received their results. If the result of the PCR test is negative, travelers can travel nationwide regardless of the region or province.
The Prime Minister has instructed government institutions to process this decision from November 15 onwards.
The Current Restrictions Within Cambodia
Many nations have reopened to international travelers in recent months, but they still have strict restrictions within the country. It’s crucial that travelers check the restrictions within a country before traveling.
Cambodia is enforcing masks in public places and social distancing laws nationwide. Shops and restaurants must enforce mask-wearing on all customers, and the government has restricted all gatherings to 50 people.
In all venues in Phnom Penh, you’ll be asked for proof of vaccination. Therefore, traveling to Cambodia if you’re unvaccinated is highly challenging. Individuals who feel unwell or suspect they have COVID-19 must call 115 and visit a government-designated hospital.
Various public places, such as gyms, casinos, karaoke rooms, and nightclubs are closed nationwide until further notice. As a result, popular entertainment destinations, including Koh Rong and Siem Reap, are facing strict restrictions.
Hotels are open nationwide but many hotels have closed since the pandemic started. Most hotels will take your temperature on arrival and will ask you to complete a health declaration form detailing your recent travel history or if you've had COVID-19 symptoms.
The COVID-19 Situation In Cambodia
Cambodia had extremely low cases of COVID-19 during 2020 due to fast border closures and strict lockdowns. The Delta variant changed that in 2021, and cases peaked at a 7-day average of around 1000 in June 2021.
Currently, Cambodia has brought the 7-day case average down to just 66 cases. The nation has fully vaccinated 85.4% of its entire population after administering over 28 million vaccination doses.
The Reopening Of Southeast Asia
Southeast Asia has been closed since the start of 2020. However, various countries have now reopened. Thailand reopened to fully vaccinated tourists from 63 nations last week, and Bali reopened to vaccinated tourists in October.
Malaysia and Vietnam have plans to reopen their borders to vaccinated travelers in early 2020. Singapore has also started a travel bubble with various low-risk nations around the world.
However, although Asian nations are reopening, many Asian nations are enforcing strict entry requirements and stringent restrictions within the country.
Cambodia is far from being back to normal despite reopening. Travelers should conduct prior research before traveling to any destination during the current times.

It is scientifically proven that vaccinated have the same viral load as unvaccinated so they are just as likely to spread Covid as unvaccinated , which begs the question why to ban unvaccinated unless of course there is a different agenda going on and it is nothing to do with public health.

The further we get into this new dystopia, the more I am unwilling to travel or live anywhere that has such BS restrictions. These restrictions are inhumane, anti-social and tyrannical. Only the wackiest of the wacky support them.

Extreme overeaction to this flu. It's depressing and tiring that despite very high vaccination rates countries still want people to wear masks and shut down busineses. It's quite frankly depressing
