As Cuba reopens to international travelers on Monday, sunny vacation airline Sunwing is making the travel process a simple one for Canadian travelers.
Listing Cuba as an ‘Easy Entry Destination’, Sunwing has committed to providing its travelers with a smooth travel experience when visiting Cuba for the first time since the pandemic.
Easy Entry For Canadian Travelers To Cuba
- Zero change fees: Sunwing is offering passengers zero change fees on flights to Cuba up to seven days before departure.
- More flight routes: The airline will also be adding routes between Canada and Cuba to its flight itinerary, with flight departures from Canada's major cities to the destinations of Varadero, Cayo Coco, Cayo Santa Maria and Holguin.
- Travelers are required to fill out a health form for arrival to Cuba, which will be provided on board at passengers convenience.
- Complimentary medical coverage for Covid: to help cover emergency medical costs on all-inclusive vacation packages for Cuba for bookings made through December 6th, for travel between November 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022.
Flight routes to Cuba this winter from more cities across Canada wil align with Canadian airports reopening to international passengers from November 30th.
Cuba's Travel Restrictions From November 15
As we reported last week, Cuba will be reopening to international travelers without testing or quarantine from November 15. Fully vaccinated travelers must show proof of vaccination prior to travel to Cuba.
Unvaccinated travelers will have to show proof of a negative PCR test result three days before travel to Cuba and for their departure back to Canada. All travelers must show proof of Covid medical insurance upon arrival.
This update comes just in time for Cuba's peak tourist season, which is typically from December through May.

Cuba A Top Travel Destination For Canadians
Cuba is a top destination for Canadian travelers. Resorts across the island have been welcoming Canadian tourists for decades, with Canadians accounting for 30% of all tourists who visit Cuba every year.
Popular resort destinations include Varadero, Cayo Coco and Holguin on the island's east coast.
Trips to the historic and cultural capital city of Havana is also on travelers' bucket lists. If you're looking for a more unique getaway in Cuba, head two and a half hours west of Havana to Viñales, a UNESCO Heritage Site that's one of the most scenic destinations in the country.

We are in Cuba right now and it is beautiful. Cubans are the kindest people you will ever meet. There is food and medication here. No issues with the government. But I have big issues with Sunwing! Flight delays getting here and a flight that was supposed to leave yesterday never did. Terrible service on the airplanes and incorrect information being given about COVID testing.

Cuba is not a safe place to travel right now , after people wake up . Cubans don't have food, medication and the government is against the people because they are protesting against the government.
