Ask anyone who has had the pleasure of visiting, and they’ll tell you that Fiji is every bit the textbook definition of a paradisal Pacific island. It’s palm lined beaches, colorful coral reefs and crystal clear seas have won the hearts of travelers from around the world for decades – and it’s relaxed restrictions are set to ensure it’ll do so this year too. Here are all the latest 2022 COVID-19 entry requirements for Fiji all travelers need to know before booking their trip.
Entry Requirements For Countries Permitted to Visit Fiji For Tourism
COVID-19 Testing Entry Requirements
All travelers above the age of 12 who are traveling to or through Fiji must produce a negative PCR test taken no more than 2 calendar days prior to the scheduled day of departure. They must be taken by a travel test provider that issues an official document or certificate alongside the result. The tests must use the nasopharyngeal, nasal or mid-turbinate specimen collection methods.
Travelers will also need to take a rapid antigen test after 48 hours in the country. This will take place in their Care Fiji Committed (CFC) Accommodation.
Quarantine Entry Requirements
Travelers coming from one of Fiji’s Travel Partner countries will not need to quarantine. These countries include the US, UK, Canada and several others, which can be found here. Travelers coming from countries that aren’t on the Travel Partners list will need to be granted pre-approval and will have to quarantine for up to 14 days in a managed quarantine facility.
There is not a health form for travelers to compete prior to travel.
COVID-19 Travel Insurance Entry Requirements
Travelers must ensure that they have a health insurance policy with international coverage that covers Covid-19.
COVID-19 Health Requirements While in Fiji
When in Fiji, travelers must:
- Wear a mask in public places (eg restaurants, tour buses, shops)
- Social distance where possible (2m)
- Wash or sanitise hands frequently
- Activate the careFIJI contact tracing app to check into businesses.
COVID-19 Vaccine Entry Requirements
Travelers must be fully vaccinated in order to enter Fiji. At present, Fiji currently recognises Astra-Zeneca, Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines only. Children under 18 are exempt from the vaccination requirement.
Visa Entry Requirements For Fiji During COVID-19
Visa entry requirements are in effect as per usual. Fiji allows travelers from several countries to enter visa free – travelers should check their visa requirements prior to entering.
Can Americans Enter Fiji?
Yes, Americans can enter Fiji at present without the need to secure a visa or quarantine. Americans may stay in Fiji visa free for a period of four months, which can be extended for a further two months. The US has given Fiji a Level 1 travel advisory, making it one of the safest destinations to travel to.
Fiji Covid-19 Entry Requirements:
- Travelers must ensure they have evidence of their vaccine status, RT-PCR tests, CFC bookings and travel insurance when arriving at the airport, as these will be checked by the airline
- Travelers will need to book a minimum 3 night stay at a CFC certified accommodation prior to traveling, along with a CFC transfer booking from the airport to their hotel
- Travelers must download the the careFIJI contact tracing app to access businesses as soon as they land in Fiji
