In recent years, Georgia has had one of the fastest-growing tourism economies throughout the entire world. With its rich culture, affordable prices, and off the beaten path offerings, tourists are eager to get back to Georgia.
The Eurasian country of Georgia started reopening for visitors on July 31, 2020.
Below you’ll find a list of all covid-19 related entry requirements for Georgia, which countries can enter, and everything else you need to know about visiting during the pandemic.
Countries Permitted To Visit Georgia
As of March 1, 2021, Georgia added additional countries that can now visit for tourism and made the entry requirements slightly easier.
- All EU Nations
- Saudi Arabia

Digital Nomad Exceptions
Georgia has a new digital nomad (remote work) program that is currently allowing visitors from MANY other countries to enter, including the UK and Canada. The program/visa is 6 months to 1-year long and has its own set of entry requirements.
Travel Authorization Form To Visit Georgia
Visitors and tourists from approved countries will need to fill out an online Application Form/Travel Authorization at least 48 hours before entering Georgia.
Georgia’s COVID-19 Testing Entry Requirements
Testing is required for all passengers entering Georgia.
- Bring proof of a negative PCR test, performed no longer than 72 hours before arrival
- Self-isolate for 3 days
- Take another PCR test on the 3rd day, of which a negative result gives freedom of movement
Quarantine Entry Requirements
Passengers entering Georgia are asked to self-isolate for the 3 days until the take their 2nd test.
COVID-19 Vaccine Entry Requirements
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that starting February 1, 2021, all international tourists who wish to enter Georgia by air may now do so, as long as they have received both doses of their Covid-19 vaccine and can provide their certificate of proof.
Those vaccinated will not have to comply with the testing and quarantine rules listed above.
COVID-19 Travel Insurance Entry Requirements
All incoming travelers should have travel insurance the covers COVID-19 for the duration of their trip to Georgia.
Any visitors coming on the Digital Nomad Visa must show travel health insurance as a mandatory requirement for approval/entry.
COVID-19 Health Requirements While in Georgia
All visitors must follow COVID-19 health requirements while in Georgia:
- Wearing a mask is required by law at all times in public, both indoors and outdoors.
- Until Jan 31, 2021 a curfew is in place from 9:00pm until 5:00am
Visa Entry Requirements For Georgia During COVID-19
Georgia has one of the most relaxed Visa policies in the world. Many nations can (normally) visit Georgia visa-free.
All of the EU, Canada, USA, Australia and many more can all visit without having to apply for a visa.
