A new all-inclusive Marriott resort – complete with its very own water park – is set to open in Cancun towards the end of the year. The Mexican city has rebounded extremely well from the impact of the pandemic, with travelers flocking to the destination in their millions – and businesses are doubling down on their presence in the city and Mexico as a whole in a bid to meet the ever-growing demand.
The new Marriott resort is one of many planned to open in the coming months and, with the popularity of Mexico showing no signs of slowing down, it’s bound to be a welcome addition to the excellent range of hotels already available in the region. Here’s a look at everything we know about the exciting new Marriott resort, including when it is scheduled to open, a look at its features and amenities, and where exactly it will be in Cancun.
New Marriott Resort – Information For Travelers
It’s been a busy year for Marriott, with the global hotel brand opening several new resorts not just in the Caribbean, but in destinations all around the world. Their latest resort, however, isn’t any old hotel, but a water park as well. Called the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun, this latest all-inclusive offering from Marriott is set to make quite the splash when it opens later this year.
Set to open on December 20th, 2022, the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun will bring another 1,049 suites to the region, with options ranging from their standard modern, luxurious suites to rooms with attractive features such as swim-out pools and outdoor terraces. Royalton’s signature rain shower comes as standard, along with satellite television, a minibar, and 24/7 room service availability.
However, where this resort is truly set to shine is in its amenities. The resort will have its very own water park, equipped with 14 monster slides, two lazy rivers, spray areas, and splash areas – perfect for big kids and little kids alike.
Away from the water, the resort will boast its own indoor arcade, along with bowling lanes, a trampoline park, and a laser tag arena. For older guests, there’ll also be a state-of-the-art fitness center and sports facilities to take advantage of – as well as The Royal Spa to melt your worries away and soothe the soul.
Being an all-inclusive hotel, guests will naturally have high expectations when it comes to food and beverages – and they won’t be let down. The resort features 10 bars on-site, as well as 12 restaurants featuring local and international favorites available in either buffet or a la carte form. The Cavern, set underground with stalactites hanging from the ceiling, offers farm-to-table cuisine, whilst there are also Japanese, Italian, South American, and Indian-themed restaurants providing a wealth of dining options.
Located just 35 minutes from Cancun International Airport, the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun is not only easy to get to but it is situated close to Cancun and the coastal towns of Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos with golf courses and archaeological sites nearby, giving travelers plenty to look forward in the local area if they fancy seeing something a little different during their stay.
Speaking about the new hotel, Jordi Pelfort, President, Hotels and Resorts of Sunwing Travel Group, said:
“We are very proud to welcome our guests to experience the signature touches and standards they’ve come to expect from our world-class brand. Our newest resort is the culmination of a decade of success offering top rated all-inclusive getaways. It has meticulously been planned and built from the ground up so that we can ensure the utmost quality and provide a truly luxurious guest experience.”
