As of January 26th all American travelers returning to the United States must provide proof of a negative Covid-19 antigen test before being allowed to board the plane. In response to the new testing requirement, many Mexico airports have set up new on-site labs that can provide travelers with the tests they will need to return home.
Here is the list so far of all airports in Mexico that are providing rapid antigen testing for U.S. travelers.
Puerto Vallarta International Airport
U.S. travelers can get a covid-19 antigen test at the Puerto Vallarta International airport. The cost of the antigen test will be 450 pesos ($22 USD).
PCR tests for other international travelers will cost 1,450 pesos ($72 USD).

Prices are discounted for passengers flying with the two airlines.
Cancun International Airport
The Cancun International Airport now has on-site antigen testing at both departure gates for American travelers returning home.
The cost of the test is $290.00 pesos ($14.35 USD)
The clinic is open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily and results take about 30 minutes.

The Cancun International Airport is warning guests that the test labs are a last resort. Due to the very high volume of U.S. passengers passing through the airport long lines and delays can be expected.
American travelers are strongly encouraged to have their antigen covid test done before arriving at the airport.
Most major resort chains in Cancun are offering free testing and over 70% of smaller hotels are offering on-site testing for a small fee. There are also dozens of clinics that offer mobile testing that can be completed in the comfort of your hotel room or alternative accommodation.

Travel Off Path Tip
Travel Off Path recommends only using airport testing as a last resort or if you arriving at the airport extremely early. There are so many variables that could cause you to miss your flight including long lines, test result delays and positive results.
Get a test in the comfort of your accommodation to avoid crowds and line ups using the many mobile services available here.
What If Travelers Test Positive At The Airport?
Any traveler who tests positive at the airport or before boarding their flight home will have to quarantine for 14 days in Mexico at their own expense.
Many large resorts are offering free quarantines for hotel guests that test positive.

It's not just the US that requires testing, Canada also, and yes, Canadians comprise a major portion of the Mexican travel industry. I really appreciate all the timely updates on this site however, your authors do tend to be US centric!

Will just fly internally to Tijuana or Ciudad Juarez and bypass this BS. A false positive could completely wreck you and over nothing. The cabal wants us plebs to stop traveling...well screw them.
