A selection of theme parks across the United States are set to offer park guests free beer this summer. With flight prices soaring to record new highs – and the cost of booking hotels abroad not far behind – there’s never been a better time to beat the airport queues and cancellations by heading off on a domestic staycation – and with free beer available at several different theme parks, it’s now an even more tempting proposition for travelers.
A rare freebie in the world full of catches and small print, it’s another great example of something else travelers have to look forward to this summer after years of pandemic-enforced travel misery and disappointment. Here’s a look at where, when and how travelers can get their free beers this summer.
Free Theme Park Beers – Information For Travelers
For many travelers, enjoying cracking open a cold one under a blazing sun – whether at home or on vacation – is one of the most enduring images of summer. Yet whilst roller coasters and rides don’t usually factor into the equation, that could all be set to change this summer, when a series of theme parks across the United States offer free beer to park visitors – to be enjoyed responsibly, of course.
The theme parks set to offer the refreshing perk are Busch Gardens and SeaWorld parks, located in different parts of the US. So far, the parks that have confirmed they will be offering the free drinks are Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, SeaWorld Orlando, SeaWorld San Antonio. The parks had previously offered the perk in the past, which had – perhaps unsurprisingly – gone down well with visitors.
At SeaWorld Orlando, guests will be able to receive one free 7-ounce beer from Waterway Grill Bar per visit to the park. The free beer will be available until August 4th, with guests able to claim it between 10:30am and the park’s closing times. Depending on the day that travelers visit, they can look forward to sampling beers from either the Anheuser-Busch InBev, Persimmon Hollow Brewing Co., JDUBS Brewery, and Sweet Water Cove brewing companies.
SeaWorld San Antonio will be giving guests their free beer from now until August 7th this summer. In order to claim it, pass holders will have to visit the Lone Star Lakeside Bar in the park, where they can look forward to selections such as Yuengling, Blue Moon, Shiner Sea Salt & Lime, and East Cider Blood Orange.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is taking things up a notch, providing guests with two free beers from now until August 7th – giving travelers even more reasons to visit alongside the park’s terrifying new Iron Gwazi roller coaster. Busch Gardens Williamsburg will only be providing members and pass holders free beer, but those on day tickets can look forward to being able to buy two 7-ounce Bud Light beers per day for just 50 cents each from June 17th to August 14th.
Speaking about the motivation behind the promotion, SeaWorld’s president Byron Surrett said it was a “way of expressing our gratitude for being loyal supporters of our park, its conservation and rescue initiatives, and its events.” Kevin Lembke, the president of Busch Gardens Williamsburg, said:
“This reward is a fan-favorite, and after listening to our Member’s feedback, we couldn’t wait to bring back free beer this year.”
Free beer will only be available for those who meet the legal drinking age requirement, and should always be enjoyed responsibly.
