5. The La Brea Tar Pit Museum
The La Brea Tar Pit Museum highlights a unique – and slightly morbid – part of natural history. The tar pits formed thousands of years ago. Fossils of mammoths, saber-tooth tigers, and dire wolves (among others) have all been found within the pits.
6. The Broad
If you’re interested in contemporary art, you won’t want to miss visiting The Broad. Featuring collections of art from dozens of artists, admission is free to the museum’s permanent exhibits. Some special exhibits and events do charge a fee, however. Timed entry tickets are currently required, and can be purchased online.
