A short 55 minute drive from the city will get you to lovely Kennett Square. Philadelphians love to come to this little town to get away from the hustle of the big city for a little while. 

This great community has wonderful opportunities for dining, shopping, and recreating. Don’t miss the stunning Longwood Gardens during your time here. Check out the historic area and the Brandywine Valley tributary to make a perfect day. Every Friday from 3 to 6 PM, visitors and locals like to purchase fresh local produce at Kennett Square Farmer’s Market. At Portabello’s of Kennett Square, dine on tender short ribs or a tasty burger. 

Go Antiquing in New Hope

This little artsy town is just a one hour drive from Philadelphia. Visitors from all over come to Main Street and New Hope for its artsy and eclectic shops, lovely riverside dining and small town ambiance. 

This quaint little town on the Delaware River is the perfect scenic getaway with plenty to do.  You can sip some fine wine on the deck at River House at Odette’s. If you want to spend time outdoors, journey to Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve and see the brilliant blooms while you walk or hike. See Amish Culture in Lancaster County

The Amish Country and the surrounding area in Lancaster County is a great country retreat. In as little as one hour and fifteen minutes, you will be in the delightful Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Come visit and learn about the Amish people’s history, traditions, and lifestyle. 

Besides the Amish culture, Lancaster County has many things to see and do. The region has many winding trails that are perfect for biking or walking. The adventurous traveler can have a blast ziplining at Refreshing Mountain. While in Lancaster, stop by On Orange for an amazing brunch. Beach It at the Jersey Shore
