Other countries are not laughing at all... because the pandemic is worldwide you know, why do you US citizens think your country is the only one with strict rules? Stop complaining about your government and move to a country where there's no travel ban at all, like Tanzania for example: their president is denying the existence of corona, so there are no rules, no face masks, nobody gets vaccinated. You can still visit family and friends, go to events, parties etc. (Of course loads of people are dying from corona but the government doesn't care) But the best part of all for you negative guys: you can easily enter Tanzania and travel around freely!!! Please pack your bags, leave your 'strict regime' that makes you a 'slave', a 'prisoner' or whatever you call it and fly to Tanzania and enjoy being 'free'!
Greetings from Amsterdam (Yes, in Europe we also have a travel ban, we have facemasks, a curfew, everything is closed, there are no events, no visits from more than one person, etc, etc. Still, I'm not moaning about my 'freedom' taken away. I'm still traveling around in my own beautiful country, actually I'm going ice-skating now, life is great :-D.

Oh please, Elisabeth, spare us your far-fetched analogies. There's no need to suggest that going to Tanzania is the only alternative to perpetual lock downs. It's not a binary choice. In the USA, Florida has stood out as a great foil to the notion that the only way to keep people safe is to virtually lock down the entire state. Florida is only 26th in the nation in terms of COVID deaths per capita, but has the 2nd highest percentage of people over 65. And it's been very open, much more so than states like NY and CA, who've seen MORE people die of COVID. Pressure is growing in Europe to end the lock downs due to the psychological and economic damage the lock downs are having on people. Governments cannot afford to give people handouts in perpetuity. At some point, the world needs to begin to open up.

“science does not support the measure...” None of this government control has anything to do with science. These measures are only attempted to exhibit dictatorial control by the regime that claims power today. Other countries are laughing at the USA and it’s pretend government.

Here's what really happened. There was such pushback that biden knew he couldn't get away with forcing it. Ron DeSantis even outright called it unconstitutional. That's what we need, pushback and noncompliance. That's how this ends.
