The freezing Northern Hemisphere winter is fast approaching, and soon enough, millions of Americans will be flocking into airports in hopes of catching the next flight to the Caribbean. There is an abundance of options available this year, now that most restrictions have dropped, but if they’re looking for a five-star experience and sargassum-free waters, then they might want to consider Cozumel, a tried and true vacay hotspot where a new Dreams all-inclusive resort has recently opened.
Cozumel is arguably the trendiest non-continental destination in the Mexican Caribbean, popular among sunbathers for its year-round warmer weather, pearl-white sandy beaches, and the region’s signature turquoise waters. Being an island with a more limited number of daily flights, one can infer it is much more exclusive than the overcrowded Cancun.
Moreover, it is taking it up a notch by hosting one of Mexico’s most luxurious retreats yet:
Meet The New Dreams Cozumel Cape Resort & Spa
Preparing months ahead for what’s shaping up to be a record season for tourism in the Riviera Maya, AMR Collection officially opened the long-awaited Dreams Cozumel Cape Resort & Spa in Cozumel on September 16. This is their latest addition to what’s already an extensive list of high-end hotels in Mexico. This time, the pristine island of Cozumel, off the Riviera Maya coast, was selected.
The hotel is located on the Zona Hotelera Sur*, close to Cozumel’s top-rated attractions, such as Playa Mia Grand, Chankanaab Beach Adventure Park, Villa Tikal, and Gaston Beach, where snorkeling is widely practiced. Additionally, guests can easily book tours to visit Punta Sur Eco Beach Park and the San Gervasio Archaeological Zone.
*The exact address is Carr. Costera Sur Km 12.9, Zona Hotelera Sur, 77600 Q.R.
As stated by AMR Collection, the new resort is located on a ‘blissful stretch of beach‘ where guests are always within a short distance of ‘adventure, romance, and relaxation’. It features eight different types of accommodation, including 154 VIP-only, ‘Preferred Club’ suites, boasting incredible views of the ocean or Cozumel’s tropical landscape.
The full list can be found on the resort’s website, with some of the highlights including beachfront swim-out suites, large apartments with connecting doors for families of up to six members, and a master suite with sea views. Their flagship product, the select Preferred Club, may require a few more months of savings, but it allows guests to enjoy:
Preferred Club Benefits
- Personalized check-in and check-out
- An elevated concierge service
- Access to the members-only Preferred Club lounge and designated areas
- Complimentary hot and cold tidbits during the afternoon
- An upgraded suite with ‘premium’ amenities and more
Prices for a Preferred Club suite start from $152 per person, per night, depending on the location and room size. The resort has branded itself as ‘family-friendly’ with a variety of ‘unlimited luxury’ services – even small dogs are welcome, and they get pampered too, whether it’s dog food and water bowls or ‘Dreams Resorts & Spas-themed dog bed and toys’.
Entertainment All Day Long
The hotel’s list of activities also seems to focus on family getaways, with a variety of staff-assisted water games – beach and pool volleyball, to name a few – ping-pong and board games. On the entertainment front, there is an ‘unlimited’ number of daytime activities, theme parties, and other live entertainment extending into the night.
It doesn’t end there: parents can enjoy their much-needed break by contacting their concierge about childcare services, available for an additional fee. Alternatively, children can socialize within the Explorer Club, open for those aged 3-12, or the Core Zone Teen Club, for youngsters aged 13-17.
Numerous Dining And Wellness Options
As for food, the resort features:
- Three gourmet à la carte restaurants
- One buffet restaurant
- Three bars
- Four ‘casual’ bars and lounges
24-hour room service is available across the property, helping enhance customer experience. To an extent, wellness enthusiasts will be thrilled to learn this resort is equipped with a Secrets Spa by Pevonia, where body treatments, facials, and massage therapies are offered. Lastly, within the spa, guests will find a refreshment bar with fresh tropical fruits and drinks.
