A vibrant country known the world over due to its romantic dances, amazing barbecued food, and breathtaking natural landscapes, Argentina should be on any travelers’ must-visit lists for 2022. Fortunately for travelers, even with Covid-19 restrictions in place, the South American gem’s entry requirements make it possible to visit for most travelers.
Here are all the latest 2022 COVID-19 entry requirements for Argentina all travelers need to know before booking their trip.
Entry Requirements For Countries Permitted to Visit Argentina For Tourism
COVID-19 Testing Entry Requirements
All travelers heading to Argentina must take a PCR test within 72 hours of their flight to Argentina, calculated from the moment the test was taken. Those under the age of 6 are exempt from this requirement.
Travelers must also take a Covid-19 test between their 5th and 7th day after arrival, as well as avoid large gatherings and social gatherings in closed spaces for the first 7 days after landing in the country.
Quarantine Entry Requirements
Travelers who enter the country and are fully vaccinated are exempt from any quarantine measures. Unvaccinated travelers who enter the country – which is only possible in exceptional circumstances – must quarantine for a period of 7 days.
Travelers must complete an online affidavit prior to travel, part of which contains a declaration that the traveler has shown no symptoms of Covid-19 prior to traveling to Argentina.
COVID-19 Travel Insurance Entry Requirements
All travelers heading to Argentina are required to have health insurance that will cover hospitalization services, along with the cost of isolation and/or medical transfers for those who test positive, who are suspected of being positive or who are close contacts of positive cases.
COVID-19 Health Requirements While in Argentina
Travelers must cover their nose and mouth with a face mask or other garment in shared spaces, both indoors and outdoors, and may only remove it outdoors as long as they keep a 2-meter distance from others. Health requirements may differ from place to place, so travelers should carefully research prior to traveling within the country.
COVID-19 Vaccine Entry Requirements
All travelers visiting Argentina for tourism reasons must be fully vaccinated. Travelers can prove their status through the App Mi Argentina, or via a document from a national or state-level public health body if vaccinated abroad. Unvaccinated travelers can only enter in exceptional circumstances, such as to visit a family member, to carry out professional or business activities, studies or training, official missions, or to partake in sporting events, or to receive urgent medical care.
Visa Entry Requirements For Argentina During COVID-19
Visa entry requirements are in effect as per usual. Argentina allows travelers from several country to enter visa free – travelers should check their visa requirements prior to entering.
Can Americans Enter Argentina?
Yes, vaccinated Americans may enter Argentina for tourism purposes. American travelers may enter visa-free for a period of 90 days.
Argentina Covid-19 Entry Requirements:
Travelers must complete the Online Affidavit of Immigration Argentina’s website within 48 hours of departure. They must also conduct a PCR test within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time of their flight to Argentina. Travelers are then advised to download, install and sign in to the CUIDAR App upon entry to Argentina. This app helps with self-diagnosis of symptoms, provides assistance and recommendations in the case of a suspected case of Covid-19 and provides tools for contact with health authorities. (Some reports state this app is only available for residents.)
