In an effort to streamline the check-in process, United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has launched the CBP One™ Mobile App for travelers.

The app serves as a single point of entry, delivering travelers and stakeholders access to the multitude of CBP services and platforms in a single portal.

A recent press release from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced the launch of the digital app designed to streamline lawful travel to the United States.

The platform provides a questionnaire to determine the suitable services based on the user’s individual needs and subsequently guides them to features such as reporting their arrival, submitting documents, or booking appointments for CBP services.

The CBP One™ Mobile App enables travelers to expedite travel requirements prior to or during their arrival or departure to the U.S. It also enhances transparency for CBP stakeholders through virtual access to service requests, real-time status updates, and direct chat options.

In this regard, Deputy Executive Assistant Commissioner of Field Operations, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Diane J. Sabatino stated:

“CBP has designed a one-stop portal of its mobile applications and services that will offer travelers a secure and convenient option to provide information related to their arrival to or departure from the United States.”

App Overview

CBP One™ encompasses the suite of apps and services administered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection to help facilitate travel to and from the United States.

The convenience of the application is not limited to travelers but is also beneficial to many vehicle operators such as pilots, bus drivers, and commercial truck drivers, all of whose entry into the United States pertains to business affairs.

The app has recently expanded its audiences in order to engage all forms of users, instead of exclusively extending its services to specific types of travelers like it did in the past.

Features and Future Releases

The app’s I-94 Entry feature lets travelers apply for a provisional I-94 preceding arrival at a land border. This component allows travelers to have their I-94 prior to their arrival, obtaining shorter processing times to advance entry. Travelers are also able to access their existing I-94 application to view important information including the duration of their stay in the U.S and proof of visitor status.

The Travel History feature enables users to review their travel records up to the past five years.

Additional specs allow travelers to check land border wait times from their smartphones.
