In its first travel update since July, officials in Grenada announced this week that it will be dropping quarantine requirements for all vaccinated travelers.

According to the government website, travelers visiting the Caribbean islands of Grenada, Petite Martinique and Carriacou who can show proof of full vaccination as well as a negative PCR test for travel won't have to quarantine for 48 hours upon arrival.

Updated Guidelines For Fully Vaccinated Travelers To Grenada

To qualify for the quarantine waiver, travelers must be fully vaccinated against Covid with one of the WHO-approved vaccines for travel.

On top of dropping the 48-hour quarantine requirement for some travelers, Grenada has also updated its list of travel protocols. Known as Pure Safe Travel Protocols, here is the list of the updates released this week:

New Travel Protocols For Visitors To Grenada

  • Travelers will no longer have to fill out and submit Grenada's Pure Safe Travel Authorization Certificate to visit.
  • Instead, all visitors to Grenada should fill out the official Health Declaration Form. You can see the health form here.
  • Travelers must present a physical copy of the certificate upon arrival to Grenada.
  • Those fully vaccinated visitors must show their original vaccination card as proof for entry into Grenada.
  • All vaccination cards or certificates must be in English.
  • Arrivals will have to do a health screening upon arrival. The screening consists of a symptoms review and temperature check.
  • Fully vaccinated travelers to Grenada won't have to be tested upon arrival, unless it's deemed necessary by Health Officials during the health screening. In this case, the required test will be free of charge to the traveler.
  • Fully vaccinated travelers will be allowed to use personal transportation to get to their hotel/accommodation or can be picked up at the airport by another fully vaccinated person.

Protocols Apply To Persons Ages 12 And Over

Under Grenada's guidance, children under the age of 12 that are traveling with their fully vaccinated parents or guardians are also considered as fully vaccinated individuals.

As for persons over 12 traveling in groups, if some individuals are vaccinated and others not, this will mean that everyone will be treated as a unvaccinated traveler.

Grenada Only Allowing Fully Vaccinated Foreign Travelers From August

From August 1st, Grenada has only allowed fully vaccinated foreign nationals into the country for non-essential purposes.

All arrivals are required to show proof of a negative PCR test result taken 72 hours prior to travel, and book at least two nights in an approved hotel for their 48-hour quarantine. These last two travel protocols have now been waived because of the recent update.
