Canadians are permitted... however... there are no Canadian testing facilities that are on the approval list for Hawaii's criteria, so you would have to visit a testing site in the USA first and go from there

What a complete bureaucratic disaster! People are expected to pay a small fortune hoping they got the right test at the right 'partner' and go through all the right government hoops to visit Hawaii. This is a very bad way to treat people that come and visit and spend money supporting your economy.
Why wouldn't Hawaii simply set up FREE covid quick testing at the Honolulu airport for incoming passengers?

It appears all passengers must have their Covid test performed by one of Hawaii's 'trusted travel partners', of which, all are in the US. Hawaii has no agreement with any Canadian labs, so it seems Canadians cannot travel to Hawaii, unless they add a stop over in the US and try to obtain a test before flying onward.

Yesterday United airlines announce they will offer pre-flight testing at SFO for $250, the results in 15 minutes. They do offer a mail in version for $80 which will be done though your personal doctor with emailed results in 36 hours. United airlines is the number one carrier to Hawaii. Future airports are being added as I'm sure LAX will be within weeks. Not to be undone, today Hawaiian offered drive through testing at a location near both LAX and SFO with 36 hour results at $90, and same day results for $150. Both of these services are for ticketed passengers of those airlines only.
